After going to the 4 stores in my area a few days ago, I am having chills.

I am staying in quarantine for the next 21 days. I don't care if my wife wants to get out of the house. I wore a surgical mask, surgical gloves and protective eye wear, but still managed to get chills and slightly elevated temperature off and on yesterday. I am not taking any more chances. I suggest you avoid grocery stores now and avoid actually avoid any place you might enter for the purpose of making a purchase. In spite of their efforts at sanitizing the carts people are carrying the virus with them as they enter, and they are not all that educated. It only takes exposure one time to get symptoms. Hopefully I will be well soon. I am having hot tea with sugar and cream. My wife doesn't have any symptoms. Thank God. I got this exact same thing two months ago, that lasted just about 24 hours or under. It could be a flue strain. The thing is, I don't know what that bug was I got back in November. I along with my wife got sick with flu and chest congestion that lasted up to 6 weeks and it seemed like in spite of the fact we washed our hands regularly, wore gloves and masks after the December announcements about a viral spread, and we got our flu shots and prevnar 13 back in October of 2019 , this new strain of flu or covid-19 or whatever packs a wollop.

Sorry to hear that. Don't take any chances, contact the authorities concerned and get yourself tested for covid 19 even if you feel it may be common flue.

I am fine now. I continue to self quarantine, however, and show no symptoms. No fever, no chills, no cough. I am very fortunate. I will remain cautious and practice social distancing by not even getting out of the house for the next week or more. Meantime I hope you are doing well yourself.

It was. I usually get this kind of bug once either in fall or in spring and have severe seasonal allergies. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.

@lookatdesktop in the first month of the lockdown, the health department here was saying we do not need the mask. After that, now it becomes a rule to wear a mask when you go out.

No, it was not covid. There are so many people ignoring social distancing but I always follow protocol.

Feel better Anthony and get tested. I've tried Curbside Express last month--all slots were full. So my brother and I went inside the store. Since they've added another pick-up spot for Giant Eagle, we might go there if I can reserve a spot for next weekend. As for Target, we went in store. Both my brother and I are well. Alert the store manager about your store experience.

I am over that bug. It only seemed to last for about a day. I have been well now for several days. No fever, no symptoms at all. I got lucky but will always practice safe distancing in public and only get out when it is absolutely necessary. Thank you for your concern. :)

@KristenH , I will feel emotionally well after November when Trump gets unelected. Just hoping for a miracle. But seriously, Texas is reopening some businesses as of today for phase One of the reopening of the local economy. Hope those folks get to work within the guidelines laid out by the CDC and don't get sick. People have to make a living. We can not close shop indefinitely.

Stay well and safe. I would stay home as well. It is too soon to be around others I believe. Feel better.

Glad you are doing that. Yes, it is my belief that it is way too early to open up business and such. I keep up with Anthony Fauci and Governor Cuomo on the updates especially up there in New York, where America is hardest hit by that virus.

@CarolDM , Yet I see things getting better for them. I hope this will be so, with prayer and faith in almighty God. Indeed I do pray.

Oh my gosh - how are you feeling today? I hope it is just the "normal" flu. I had a weird illness mid-January . . . and my relatives said the same - and my parents got it in February. Hmmmm. I hope your wife continues to be fine . . . you take care and get better soon!

Thank you. I feel confident in my health. I did a follow up with my doctor just a few days ago over the phone. I have the choice to either pick up my prescriptions at the pharmacy or call them and have them deliver it. I will go get it myself later on this afternoon or early tomorrow morning. I feel fine. But wish my wife did not have a bad heart. That concerns me a lot more than anything else. I love her so much and do not want to lose her. Doctor said she had 5 years and so far so good. She is a fighter. Never gives up and neither do I, for her sake.

I have a consult with my physician within the next few days as scheduled. And I have no illness at this time. I had chills and it only lasted a day. If the symptoms had been more severe I would have tested. I act as if everyone has it, just to keep away from people and them away from me. I don't even like seeing the mail carrier not wearing a mask as he makes his daily rounds. People are not taking this matter as seriously as they should and the toll on human life is ever rising. Washing hands, wearing mask while shopping, and gloves and eye protection. I keep up with all the latest reports about covid-19. Thank you.

I have got over it that very day I posted this here at myLot. It's been 6 days since I had the chills and I am now doing just fine. But I will remain socially isolated for another week just to be on the safe side. I will, when ready, to get back out and about, use face mask, hand sanitizer, and practice social distancing as I see many are doing so and things might get better for everyone in the long run. I hope you are doing well yourself. Thank you for your concern.

@lookatdesktop I'm glad you're feeling better. We are doing OK so far. I haven't been out of the house since March 19; and my husband, who does the shopping, has been very careful. There are a couple of MyLot members who had COVID-19 but have recovered nicely. Whew! Have a great Tuesday!

Get yourself tested for covid 19 just to rule out any possibility. Hope it's a regular flu and you feel well soon. Good to self isolate yourself when you are not well. Take care. Prayers and thoughts for you.

I will self isolate for another 8 or 9 days, and have no symptoms. The bug lasted just about a day and I have fully recovered and now it's been about 6 days since I was sick and feel well and have been doing some gardening also. Hope all is well on your end.

I am fine. I only had chills and slight fever. I had been doing yard work a few days actually, before and was exposed to the rain. My wife always tells me to dress appropriately when cooler temperatures come but I am basically ignorant about that at times. I am well now and appreciate your response. Hope all is well for you.
