After 46 days, 17 hours and 3 minutes of separation, my love is finally coming back home to see me! Back in mid-March, when the University of Florida cancelled all on-campus classes, my girlfriend left town to go home and visit her mom for a week before planning on coming back to resume online classes. Little did either of us know at the time what we were all in store for. It was during that time that she was at home visiting her mom that the lockdown requirements went into effect, essentially leaving her "stranded" at her mothers house! After about a week of the lockdown, she was going to take her chances and come back to town to see me. But, unfortunately, that was right at the time that I came down with the virus. That shot those plans down real quick!
Fast-forward to today, when she called me a little while ago and said she was coming to see me tomorrow morning, and would now be staying back here in town. I'm so excited to see my sweetie again and can't wait to spend time with her! If our beautiful weather continues, we'll plan a nature hike and picnic or something just to get out of the house. She's also been cooped up the whole time, so she's itching to get outside as much as I am!
You guys can't believe how happy this makes me!

I sure can understand your excitement.
It reminds me of when my boyfriend (husband later on) went to Europe for 6 weeks in the summer of....
On the night of his arrival, he called me from the airport and I just couldn't get hold of myself.
So, I guess you won't be on MyLot for a while.

I'm trying to get my myLotting out of the way this morning, because you are correct that I won't have much time to be here once she arrives!
Six weeks is a long time to be away from a loved one. I was starting to freak out, because I struggled with the time gap with my last girlfriend when she moved across the country and we only saw each other once a month. It was very difficult, and ultimately what led us to part ways. I really didn't want to go through that again with my current girlfriend.

Yes, I was sick with the virus for a total of 19 days. Thankfully, it was only a moderate case, but it still had me worried there for a while.

@RubyHawk We all got sick at the same time, so it was not difficult at all to quarantine with the kids in the house. We suspect we caught the virus from Disney World, we were there at the theme park the day before they shut it down due to concerns over the virus.

@moffittjc I can imagine. Most young healthy people do okay but not every time . I’m glad it wasn’t too difficult for you. How did you quarantines with kids in the house. That had to be a problem.

@Tampa_girl7 That's funny that you mentioned Cinderella. Two times in my life I have dated girls who were cast members at Disney World and played the Cinderella character. In neither instance did I know that until after I had started dating them. I guess I have a thing for Cinderellas! haha

Sure we can believe it but I'm thinking you most be a lot younger than I was guessing but maybe not? And I'm not guessing.
I met a gal that told me her sister came up from Texas with her three kids before it all began and had been stuck here. They were going to visit tourist areas in Michigan but those are all closed up. I'm not sure if they'll have time to still visit some before heading back hopefully in June.
How far away is her mother's place and I didn't realize you had the virus.

Her mom’s house was about an hour and a half away. Yes, I had the virus, was sick for 19 days, but I’m all better now. My girlfriend and I are reunited, so all is well with the world.

@MarshaMusselman I had all the major symptoms, but never at once. At first I got the persistent dry cough. That lasted about a week. Then that went away and the breathing difficulty kicked in. After about three days of that, I finally broke out in a fever. The fever only lasted two days. Then the fatigue hit, and it was about a week of that. And then it ended with loss of appetite and loss of taste/smell, along with diarrhea. Then I just slowly started feeling better day by day. It was an interesting 19-day journey to say the least!

@moffittjc did you have any of the major symptoms or mainly were you extremely fatigued? My nephew and his wife both have it and they're not tired out. We're hoping their three kids are nine and under don't get it as they all have asthma along with their mom.

Given that she's younger, she probably wouldn't have suffered many symptoms of having the virus. I almost wish she was here and got the virus at the same time as me so that we could both get it over with and out of the way! As much as I can't wait to see her, in the back of my mind I'm a little concerned on whether or not I can still transmit the virus. But not concerned enough where I'm not going to give her a big 10 minute kiss as soon as she walks in the door! haha

If the weather tomorrow is anything like the weather we had today, we are going to have ourselves a wonderful little picnic. I just home 150,000 other people in this city don't have the same idea I do, or else we're going to have a tough time finding a spot! haha

@Ladanger Is it a big park like Prospect Park or Sunset Park, or is it a smaller neighborhood park? Fifteen minutes is not a bad walk at all.

We couldn't have asked for more beautiful weather! These are the days that being outside were made for! I'm trying to enjoy it while I can, because in about another month it will be too hot and humid to do anything outside.
