Fences Make Great Neighbors

Was out filling and cleaning the bird bath earlier. One of the new neighbors was walking her dog in her yard. She came up to the fence to introduce herself. It was nice to meet her. She was a friend lady with a cute little dog. She keeps him inside. We talked at the fence a few minutes. Now we can wave to each other when I see her in the yard. Snapped this photo of an old fence the other day while riding around. Do you agree that fences make great neighbors? Allows privacy for both parties involved. Plus my cats would have probably freaked out if not for the fence, her little dog is not something they see often. Only from the windows.

We have fences in Florida, but only rock walls up north. Our neighbors are all friendly and never bother us.

It is nice to wave at someone and chat over a fence these days. We only have a fence because the neighbour has sheep. They are her fences.

@CarolDM The sheep wreaked havoc on our garden last year. That fence is mended now

Yes, fences fulfill their own great purpose. Else, there could be more conflicts and disagreements. They help folks to live peacefully.

Our entire back yard (about 3/4 of an acre) is fenced in. We love it. It was great when we had dogs. Open the door and let them out!

First time to meet any of the new ones. Waving is sometimes better than talking.

@CarolDM Yeah, when I first heard it was there, so the neighbors don't know each other, I was surprised, now I'm kind of used to it, although it's still a little weird to me

I'm glad she seems like a good neighbor. Our closest neighbor is probably 1/8 mile across the creek.

Yep, fences are great boundary markers, offers a deterrent against crime, and provides privacy. Three good reasons to put up one if necessary in your neighborhood. I'm sure your cat is glad you have one, lol.
