DO have your thyroid checked if you are tired all the time. Other symptoms: difficulty concentrating, muscle aches, always thirsty, weight gain or difficulty losing weight, feeling cold even in warm weather and rapid heart rate. DO get checked for an iron deficiency if you tire easily, feel lethargic, are extremely weak, have difficulty sleeping, have a rapid heart rate and/or a headache. DO mix your turkey with a carbohydrate. Foods containing tryptophan such as turkey will help you sleep better when combined with a carbohydrate. DO roll on an antiperspirant with aluminum salts to reabsorb the fluid in a mosquito bite and reduce swelling and itching. DO place your index fingers on the sides of your nostrils and rub for 30 seconds to clear out your sinus cavity for up to an hour. Saw this today after seeing other posts with iron deficiency info....good advice here. Although the turkey thing - If I have turkey with a carb I will just be more tired because of insulin resistance/high blood sugar. Turkey on it's own, I would probably be more awake lol

Interesting that adding carbs helps tryptophan-rich foods facilitate sleep. Maybe the carbs help the brain metabolize the tryptophan into turn it into melatonin (the sleep enhancer) and serotonin (a mood enhancer). I remember that this happens in the pineal gland. I may have to do more research on this!

Yes, the melatonin and serotonin would explain the sleepiness.
