A guy that worked for us years ago contacted me in March to see if he could work until he got busy building patios. Then covid happened and we didn't need him. The guy that cut my grass the past few years isn't with us anymore so I asked the other previous employee if he wanted to mow our lawn. He agreed but never gave me a day. It's been two weeks now and I asked another worker, the girl that I worked with this week cleaning windows and she loves to mow and said she would.
But, she'd forgotten she told her niece she'd help her move and clean. She expected to hear when before now but the niece wanted her help today. So, the lawn is still waiting to be mowed. Two weeks ago it was at three inches or so but now it's almost five inches in spots. If someone driving by sees it they might report me and I'd be fine if I didn't comply, so I mowed a small area tonight.
I stopped because it's so tall and I realized the grass isn't shooting out the side or back which isn't good unless the grass catcher is attached which it isn't. So I quit. Plus I'm tuckered out from cleaning windows today.
So for yesterday and today I worked my arms cleaning very dirty windows. In the eight years they've lived there they cleaned them once. Both in and out were awful.
And then tonight I got some pushing in when I pushed the mower through the long grass.
I'll have to have my husband lift it up a notch until we can do it more often. Maybe later I'll get another image of the back which will better show how high it is. The pic is not of the side and back yard.
I did get my taxes mostly done today and only have to call to verify a couple of things.

Do you not have anyone take care of it until you return?

@BelleStarr sprng cleanup like last month or just recently? Our state only opened it up for lawn services s couple weeks ago if CT was there same they may need to catch up with all their contracts before they have time to do weekly work. And here they may be limited to how many travel in a truck so they can't just hire extra people.

@simone10 April is supposed to be the rain month here but the rain kept missing us so I suppose it's needed for the growth needed everywhere. More reason is coming today and it may rain for there days unless it ends up being elsewhere at the end .
I'm not coming out there now just to mow.

Gee, you did the mowing yourself. That's a heavy task.

It's long now or was before you mowed it. If not can you add a pic to your comment? Somethings don't show well in pics but I'm not saying that to argue who is correct either.

@MarshaMusselman I am embarrased just looking at the lawn in the back (from my kitchen window). If I remember, I will take a pic to show you.

Yes we have until July instead of April but I get money back so would like to utilize it asap. Plus I'll have less time to for that in once the working restrictions are completely lifted.
The second person that was going to do it washed walks after we worked yesterday and today she was going to help her niece move. The guy would needed a ride from another city over. I don't think laziness is the problem right now.

The grass is long in both pictures. And you have a good evening too.

@CarolDM it's hard to get it to show what u want. Maybe I needed to stand on my neighbors lawn which he just did and I'm sure then you could tell how bad mine is. Maybe tomorrow.

I do have allergies and may have had them for heads at one time but it doesn't seem to bother me any more. I don't intend to do the whole thing and if necessary I may need to pay s Lancaster place but I know they aren't cheap and my employees like the extra cash.
I like the smell of cut grass too.
