People? Who needs people?

Inline image 1, 2 & 7) Florida has 21.67 million people of which 1.95 million live in Broward County and 182,595 in Fort Lauderdale. Last, but not least, 300 live here at Gateway Terrace. With all those figures you would think you would see at least one car on 19th Avenue where the entrance to Gateway Terrace is and which is a major artery to Sunrise Boulevard one of the heaviest traveled roads in the State but you don't see a car. Maybe because we don't have any tourists due to the virus and restrictions that may explain no cars, but no people? Talking about a residential area with 300 people plus maintenance it is amazing that you don't see a one in any of the pictures. 12) By the way, I put this picture in because I didn't want you to think we always have sunshine! It is now the rainy season in South Florida so we will have some rain almost every day. 3 & 6) Good news! I get a crewcut every 3 months but I was due in March and all the shops were closed. but today Nora had a notice on her door that she will start giving haircuts on Monday! She can only have 1 customer at a time in the store and must have 15 minutes in-between each customer to sanitize the room. Then we have 4) Lenny the Lizard returning home and 8) his two guests coming over for cocktails while 5) the pigeons take a walk knowing there won't any people to annoy them while 9) Pete the pigeon as a lookout to make sure people don't come via water. 10) One of my various bird visitors stopped by to check I was okay and to keep an eye on her mate making a nest in the Wilma tree. 11) And for a finale to the day say hello to Lucy who is my next door neighbor. Oh, she allows 2 humans to live with her because they feed her so it is okay. Lucy is always in the window at 5 PM when I come back from getting my mail. She is hard to see because of the reflection of the walkway steel fence but wait until you see the picture I took of her a few minutes ago but that's for another post! I have to go back to hibernating with Mother Nature--what a rough life!

It’s very quiet here, too. I just came in from gardening in my covidiot free yard.

I am absolutely surprised that with 300 senior residents living here, most, but not all, with physical problems all are well---as far as we know!

@GreatMartin No one was ill in our buildings, but our friends in Boca and Boynton had cases growing in leaps and bounds.

I can see Lucy in the window. Isn't it uncanny how dogs have an internal clock? Bella used to always get restless around the time my brother would come home from work. It always amazed me how she knew.

Sounds good to me. I have birds serenading me outside my window in the morning and I have a lizard that crawls up my wall at night to keep me company.

@RasmaSandra I have always enjoyed watching the antics of cats but have been basically a dog person!

@GreatMartin there is a confused odd outside cat here. He seems to need a home but is unsure of who to trust and is rather confused as we all sometimes get. He has learned to listen when I call him Flufkins and then he comes running up the stairs and suddenly stops halfway flops down on the stair and just goes to sleep. Decidedly a cat I will not figure out but interesting entertainment.

The haircut won't be free!!! But that's okay because she has been out of business 6 weeks and has kids!
