The Case Knife

Among my endeavors to make my bedroom anew, the window was one of the most important things for me to conquer.
Why would I need to conquer a window? What do I mean by conquering a window? Well, I'll tell you.
As many of you know, the room that I call "my own" was not always my own. In fact, it has belonged to several people in my family over the years. I won't go into who all has owned it, nor who was the last to use it. I will, however, say that I am happy.
Why? Well.. The window, that had been painted shut for years, is now no longer. I have full access to the window now, and as such, was able to take a case knife and break the seal that the paint had created.
I don't expect anyone to even care about this, but I am happy so I thought I'd share.
I have cleaned out one more drawer in the desk today, and will try to find more that I can accomplish shortly..
It's a beautiful day here, albeit hot!
How's the weather in your area?
How's your Sunday going?

It's a bit sad and lonely here. Everyone seems to be grumpy and I seem to be hiding.

I refer to a butter knife. I was taught to call it either a case knife or a butter knife. I remember the first time I was told to "bring me a case knife", I was confused. Then they said "it's a butter knife" and I knew what they meant.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Must depend on where you are from. Growing up all of the men had pocket knives, and most were the Case brand.

@ScribbledAdNauseum It is quite cool here this morning, and I think tomorrow will be even more so. There is that front off the coast, and I think we might get some of that Mid Western rain too.

@snowy22315 The past couple of times that they've called for storms here, it's only rained a bit and no thunder. I really want a downpour today.

Yesterday was a nice day weather-wise. But I felt lazy yesterday and I didn't get hear most of the church service because they decided to use a cell phone. The traffic drowned out most of the service.

Hopefully they will get a wind muff that they can put over the cellphone's speaker, that should drown out some of the noise of the traffic. Though it would be nice if they could just get a camera.

@JESSY3236 Maybe the person who used the laptop didn't bring it this week? Perhaps you could contact the church and let them know. I am sure others have probably done the same, but it doesn't hurt as I am sure they want people tuning in.

@ScribbledAdNauseum They used a laptop last week which was great. I wish they had just kept it where it was last week.

I guess he was so used to using it, he wanted to make sure you were treating the machine right?
Yep, I was so happy. I opened the window for a bit today until the temperature inside matched the temperature outside.1 person likes this

@paigea Oh No! See, that is the exact thing I'm afraid I would do. To be honest, I am not sure how my neighbor uses a riding mower on our yard when we have exposed roots in the front yard, and a narrow passageway / bank in the back.

@nawala123 Yes. This pandemic is awful, but it does have some good as factories are forced to limit production or shut down completely, transportation is at a standstill... We are healing our planet by staying at home.

I remember back in the day when a house I lived in had windows that were painted shut. Now I couldn't live in a house that I couldn't open the windows.
I'm sure you're happy to have a window you can open.

My brother painted this window shut when he painted the whole room. I did not have access to the window until a few days ago when I finally moved the desk. i love being able to feel fresh air.

I'm glad you now have use of your window! You have so many projects you are doing. The weather is sunny and 70ish (I think).

Ick 70ish! well, I guess that's better than the 80's we had the past two days.
I'm so happy to have use of the window too. I cleaned it a bit yesterday, but I need to find something to prop it open and clean the outer glass.
