Morning!

Woke up this morning and went to the grocery store. Guess what they had? Cube Steak! I'm going to be making pepper steak tomorrow! I was going to make a taco stuffed shell thing that I saw posted on facebook, but they actually had very little ground beef to choose from. Reeser's Cauliflower was something else I bought again. It is basically cauliflower with gruyere cheese and is delicious. What did I watch last night? Thieves of the wood. It is on netflix, and is one of those TV MA rated shows. I watched two, maybe three episodes of it. It is originally a Dutch drama, and is based off of Jan De Lichte who was an outlaw leader in the 18th century in what is now Belgium. It's interesting. Today it is rainy, which is actually nice. It's cooler which I like. We have the air off and I have my window open as it's ten degrees cooler outside than it is in. How was your day / night / week?

Did you get the Resser's Cauliflower at FL? I should look for it if you did. Cooler here too. I was actually posting in the Vegetarian site on FB yesterday trying to get ideas of what to make with my mashed cauliflower with sourcream. I have been watching Steve Jobs on NF alternating with Parks and Rec.

Go today, it's $2.99 this week (so ending tonight). My FL has it over by the deli, in the specialty cheese case.

@snowy22315 They have spinach and macaroni and cheese too. I'm trying the spinach sometime this week.

Nice, quiet Monday. Threat of rain all evening that never materialized. I’m slowly working on washing my winter jackets (the ones that don’t have to be dry cleaned) to put away for the summer, so I washed a couple of them last night.

We've had that rain that's never materialized several times this week. I'm glad it actually has rained today. Oh that's good. Yes, I think we will soon be turning warmer, so no need for the winter jackets. I can't tell you when the last time I actually wore a jacket was, I use hoodies and layers more now.

Good Morning. The pepper steak sounds good. My day is good because we have good weather today

I am glad you are enjoying the weather. The recipe I use is one that I was taught by my grandmother. Actually, I think I tweak it a little now. It's basically Cubed steak, chopped up, basted in flour and then cooked. One can whole plum tomatoes, two cans diced tomatoes and one small can tomato paste green peppers and onions beef stock You let that simmer together for awhile, I usually put it on a low / medium heat for a half an hour. Then I make rice to go with it. It is very good if you let the cubed steak and tomatoes soak into the rice.

@m_audrey6788 I hope you enjoy it. You can make it your own by adding or subtracting things. I've used other cuts of meat with this before as well.

Cubed steak sounds good. I might thaw some hamburger meat while I'm at work and have some hamburger helper when I get off tonight. If I feel like cooking when I get home. Looks like today is gonna be sunny and hot here. I'll be at work for the bulk of it though.

HH has been a favorite of mine since I was a kid. I know it's not a go-to for most adults. I've tried to make my own before, but I'm actually a very bad cook, so I stick to the boxed stuff. lol

Well, atleast you will be out of the heat. I haven't had Hamburger Helper in so long! I like to make my own though so I can control the salt content.

We went to Ikea this morning, it's the first time we go out the border of our village since February. I placed an order online and we picked it up this morning. It was nice to drive along the lake, the weather was not the best, but no rain.

I love driving over lakes as it's some of the more serene views. Were you allowed to go in the store, or did you have to call and inform them you were waiting?

@LadyDuck All of this is heavily enforced? We have similar things here, but we do not have someone standing guard to say "no more people inside".

@ScribbledAdNauseum We were allowed to go into the store, they have painted arrows on the floor because people must follow a path. There is a security guard at the entrance to check that people wear masks, we must sanitize our hands before going in and there is a maximum number of people inside. It was not too bad.

I haven't had pepper steak in ages. Any kind of beef here is expensive and hard to find. I noticed that Sams Club has London broil that was $20 last week is now up to $40 this week.

Our prices are just going to keep hiking up, unfortunately. I bought a package for $12.99, and it's been awhile, but I think the same size package used to be about $2.00 less. One of the news stations did a little segment on it yesterday, and told us how much each department would be increasing.

Amber you make delicious foods. With cauliflower, is it a baked cauli?

This is actually an item that I get premade from the store. You can bake it in the oven, but I popped it in the microwave. It was nice and soft, and delicious.
