Another 'find' in the workshop

Several houses we have lived in have had huge lounge rooms. The photo shows the lounge of a house we lived in in Perth, capital of Western Australia. The house was on a small block but had a huge pool just off the back verandah.
When we were looking for a home, we definitely didn’t want a pool but we were so taken with the house, we had our hearts set on it before we even looked out the back door. However, the pool did give us a lot of pleasure.
The jarrah coffee table in the photo was made by my father. Jarrah is a native reddish wood. The table has just been rediscovered in our workshop. Two legs have come unstuck so now it’s another small project for Vince and, once finished, it will be moved back into the house.

That coffee table is a gem especially that it was made by your father. We also have a wooden folding table made by my father and it is kept in the stock room only for occasions.

what a great find - things made by relatives are the best furniture. I have a desk my grandfather made for me when I was born!

@JudyEv My uncle and aunt bought a property like that. The whole family enjoyed that pool very much when their children were small. He sold that place and moved away when the children grew up - no pool at the new place. (He told me it was a lot of work maintaining that pool, worth it only when all five children of his used it, but a burden otherwise.)

When Vince decided he'd like to do some woodworking, soon after we were married, he went to night school and made me these two bookcases. The shelves are adjustable.

The room in the photograph looks very nice with all of the furniture in place.
