COVID Test Repeated on my Uncle

Another update on my uncle. Have been on the phone with two different nurses, one being the DON (director of nurses). I had lots of questions, so the RN transferred me to the DON.
The COVID unit now has over 40 positive residents in this quarantine unit. They were all re-tested on Monday. My uncle was positive again.
He has not answered his phone in quarantine since he was transferred on 5-07-20. The DON said he is in a room without a phone. She said they are using a very loud filtration system to keep the air clean and he cannot hear the phone.
A chest x-ray was done yesterday due to a cough. No pneumonia. They have changed his diet to a liquid diet. He has to have two negative results before he can be transferred out of quarantine.
Not great news, but I was glad to get any news at this point.

I am so so sorry that he tested positive again. Now, you know he is not avoiding you but in a room with no phone. I am so glad you were able to get answers. I bet you are glad you know what is going on even though it is not good news. When will he have to take the test again and let us hope this time it will be negative and he gets another negative. I know how hard it must be for you. Thank you for updating us.

the other thing, that may help a bit, there are a lot of false positives depending on the test used.

That is the number I am given, I hope it is correct. So many times the homes are not reporting correctly. All I can do is hope for the best. They have a separate COVID unit at the nursing home. I still wish they were all in the hospital.
