My seedlings are doing well

I wrote a while ago about planting some seedlings. Some I put in troughs and that’s what you can see in the photo. Others are in a raised bed and are also doing well.
In the foreground are three tomato seedlings which came up from seed. They are still very small but are hanging in there. Soon I should be able to take a leaf or two off the lettuce plants.
I’m going out to burn leaves later. It’s quite cold out there at the moment – at least by our standards. About 7C.

I see the tomato seedlings as small as my red pepper seedlings.

Is rocket one of the lettucy things? They were all in the one punnet of seedlings. The parsley is in a separate container.

@sunrisefan It seems you are in NZ now. Did you get trapped there with the virus?

@JudyEv Honestly, I do not know, Ms. Judy. It’s the first time I’ve seen and eaten rocket when I arrived here in NZ.

The seedlings need adequate sunlight . Not too direct but enough light to help growth. The soil also needs to be wet and not too dry. Little things but they do help to have better growing plants

I'm not sure it's really the right season for them but we'll see what happens.

Nice! We have to start tomatoes indoor and put them out as plants already. Do you have 2 growing seasons there?

I've made a mistake really in planting the tomatoes. I think it will get too cold for them. They should be a summer crop and we're going into winter.

I wonder why you don't plant them on the land and you will even have a bigger harvest
Is it possible to have the fence so that the wild animals can't go to eat your plants?
