Was out walking around in the yard before the rain started just now. I saw a male cardinal fly out from some of the hedges. So I went to investigate, slowly.
And there it was. A nest of four speckled eggs. They are similar to mockingbird eggs but I have only seen a cardinal flying around in this area.
Time will tell what the species is, you know the crazy bird lady will keep watching.
So excited to get this photo. Hopefully there will be four babies soon to watch.

Wow! I agree, how exciting!
I've never seen speckled eggs that color before.
I'm looking forward to seeing what happens.
