World Redhead Day Sally Ride Day 1967 - The Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album by the Beatles is released. 1968 - Iceland changes from driving on the left to driving on the right. 1907 - John (the "Duke") Wayne was born. He was an American actor, director, producer and Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient. His big break was in the movie Stagecoach in 1939. He made a total of 142 movies; many of them were Westerns. He received an Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in 1969 for True Grit. He died in 1979. 1948 - Stevie Nicks was born. She is an American singer and songwriter. She is best known for her work with Fleetwood Mac and also as a solo artist. She has had ove 40 Top 50 hits and sold over 140 million records. She joined Fleetwood Mac in 1975. While still with the group she began her solo career in 1981. Nicks has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice...with Fleetwood Mac in 1998 and as a solo artist in 2019. I remember my first vinyl record of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album by the Beatles. My mother hated the sound of that music but I loved it.
