I am proud to say I shook this man's hand and in small ways helped him fight for what he believed in and was able to accomplish--he proved you could fight City Hall even if they hated you!
I loved him, his activism, his writing, the way he lead his life and his personality which wasn't always easy to deal with.
He lead the fight against AIDS and didn't hesitate to tell off the President, the Mayor, the politicians, the Gay men who wouldn't listen to what he predicted and advised

He was loud and pushy, wouldn't take gruff from anyone---including presidents and mayors--accomplished a lot and was a great writer!
