Socks . . . and Shoes

I almost always wear socks and shoes. A number of my jobs have required it. Some of my jobs required certain types of socks. I know, many of you go barefoot most of the time or wear sandals or flip flops. When we moved, five years ago, I had a basket of unmatched socks. I threw them in a bag, thinking to use some for dusting if they did not match or fit right. So my "she shed" has had a plastic bag of socks all this time. Right now I consider the ground too wet to mow. We had rain a lot the last few days. I still wanted to be outside. So I dragged out the bag and went through them all. Really quite a few matched up. Tinker rejoiced in the opportunity to annoy me and be right in the middle of them. And I got some sunshine. Now this brings me to shoes. I may or may not have worn mismatched shoes yesterday all day. I do not think I did, but at the end of the day I had two different "slip on" flats on. I think I would have felt the difference if I had worn them all day. I believe I went to my room at some point and took a rest, then did not look at my shoes when I put them on. So tell me about your footwear, or lack of it. The doctors keep saying that as a diabetic I should always wear closed toe shoes. Not gonna happen all the time, but it does happen a good deal of the time. I think I must have stepped out of my shoes

I have very inexpensive canvas shoes that I wear so I can put my inserts in that help my knees and back. These were sort of dressy shoes that I may have messed up.

wearing mismatched shoes and socks seems funny but sometimes when we are busy thinking about something such things do happen.

Yes, it is. I do not wear the mismatched socks and I am surprised about my shoes.

@GardenGerty to avoid mismatch you can keep a matching pair of socks inside a matching pair of shoes

I know I have worn mismatched socks (because of my laziness of not finding the matching one on time . . .but if no one is going to see it, I mostly don't care ). Indoors I am shoeless - and whenever possible because I do think it's good to keep up foot muscles. And it's a cultural thing for us to not wear shoes indoors . . . but I like to think of it as keeping the floors clean. But outdoors . . . this sounds stupid, but I have a few shoes for this time . . . certain flats for shopping, certain slippers for taking walks, certain boots for shopping when it's cold . . . and because I've worn them in public, they stay and are used only outdoors.

If I could convince my husband to go shoeless indoors it would make me happy. I could do that. He does wear nice house slippers a lot. I like when I am done being outdoors and can take my shoes off for the day.

@GardenGerty House slippers are good - but better if they are kept as indoor house slippers only. Oh yes, freeing the feet makes them scream out in happiness .

My brother and his wife both wear crocs a lot. I do not think she can at her job. Kids love crocs.

Shoes. Huge sighs from me on that subject. Bunion and wide feet and oh lordy, issues crop up. I finally ended up with running shoes that mostly fit. Sandals that leave me this side of barefoot feel better in warm weather though its not safe walking with them in all the sharp weeds. Still, the sandals give my toes breathing room.

I had a bunion removed. I have wide feet. I love it when I find something comfy as my great toes on both feet hurt, in spite of the surgery on one.

@GardenGerty I am sorry for your pain. Tis no fun. My big toe joint gets inflamed at times and its just not hilarious. Too often my shoes shove my toes into each other so they are a bit deformed now. I wish shoe makers would get with it and make decent toe boxes.

I am still wearing socks every day as it is still to cold for me without them. I wear sneakers when I go out.

I rarely wear socks, although I did growing up. I don't think I had a pair of flip flops until I was a teenager. My mom was never crazy about the look.

I do not really think flip flops are good for my feet. I did not like socks growing up but I do now.
