I told a good friend of mine to look into getting her stimulus money and she went on a rampage saying she don't want no money and she doesn't want to discuss this any more and forget it. I keep trying to explain how easy this is to get and all you have to do is visit irs.gov and type in your bank Information or address. She is part time homeless and could really use the money. But, I said ok. Who would turn down money? Do you know people who turned down money? Have you gotten your stimulus?

One of my neighbors--one of the few real Christians I know--is giving his to folks who need it more than him.

@LowRiderX yes, wish she would change her mind. Maybe she has her reasons!

@db20747 Oops I did not write a nice previous comment. I thought I know a few who refused money, sorry for this misunderstanding.
I don't think so, there are just such people who won't, out of some of their beliefs

I do know people who have turned down money in a similar way. My husband, for example, is entitled to disability benefits but doesn't claim them. We have a comfortable income, we've lived on much less. My husband has always said he doesn't see a reason to claim money when it's not needed. He and I have seen people take advantage so that's put him off. I have explained to him that he's not one of those people - he worked when he was able. I understand his reasoning, though. I also understand that some people are too proud to ask for money, even if they are entitled to it. They don't want to be seen as a charity case or a beggar or a scrounger. Then there is the possibility that your friend is aware of the payments available but isn't able to go through the process of accessing them (whether because she has no internet access or because, as simple as you say it is, she finds it difficult to do or even if she doesn't have a bank account).

When times are tough , Im not too proud to beg. You have a good point. She probably is having a hard time figuring it out, she is pretty smart on the computer. I didn't think I was eligible for anything but actually received payments.
