Is it just me? Same old story

Is it just me? We had days/nights of protests and riots over George Floyd but we didn’t have any for David Dorn, Daniel Shaver, Justine Damon and many others wrongfully killed. David Dorn a retired police officer came to a friend’s pawn shop to defend it from the rioters when he was killed by black men who were trying to enter the pawl shop. By the way if you don’t know Mr. Dorn was a 77 year old Black man. No protests or riots for him. Daniel Shaver, the white man who was killed by police in a hotel. Just so you know he was unarmed and in the video, you can see him complying with the police and begging them not to shoot him. Protests and riots? Nope not at all. Justine Damon the white female who called the police when there was a disturbance behind her home. Oddly enough the police body camera’s were not turned on but somehow they did kill her. Protests and riots over this? Nope but a lot of attempts to cover the truth. If we want justice shouldn’t we want justice in all these cases? From what I am reading the cop who killed Mr. Floyd has been charged with 3rd degree murder, been fired from his job and his wife has filed for divorce, is that not justice? You listen to these people out there rioting and looting and they can only say they want justice. What does that mean? What exactly are you expecting to happen? How many times does this happen and we hear the same things, but nothing is changing? What have you done beyond burning buildings and stealing. Did you stay involved in the local government? Did you vote out those in power? Did you rally around your community to make it a better place? Did you report known crimes in your neighborhood? Did you run for office or join the police force to make a difference?

Yikes, you've made me feel guilty. I've never protested, maybe I should but for me it would be a protest against those who disrespect Mother Nature. Finding people to help with that in my community would be like looking for a unique straw in a bale of hay

well don't feel guilty, many of us don't have the ability or the time to do some of these things, but as long as your not out there rioting and burning down buildings and claiming that it is because you want positive change. If people want positive change than go out there and do something positive.

You're right @Bensen32 but it is hard to find something positive I could do that would gain the attention of enough people to make a difference, too many people here won't even recycle.

@rebelann That is true, we can only do what we can. Spread the word how you can, be a better you to change those around you. We can't all change the world but we can change ourselves.
