We also keep the food containers from the fast food including the plastic fork and spoon. We can use that when we go on a picnic.

@Shunnan That's really nice. You keep it up. You are not only helping yourself to save money, more importantly you are helping the environment. You are one less person to throw that plastic cup to the bin. If more and more people will do what you do and learn to recycle imagine the change it could impact to the world. No act is too small to begin with.
