Hi friends, Today I join hear very lately.. Because Today is Sunday so my family ask me Sunday special.. For preparing Sunday special, then cleaning all those it take long time for me today.. So join very lately hear..
For my hubby wish Today I prepare Sambar Rice, Tamil Nadu style.
This recipe as different style coming Bangalore they prepare differently but today I prepare my current place Chennai, Tamil Nadu style.
This take very long time and having long process too.. For preparing this dish we need plenty of groceries also..
Hear I explain shortly for this first we need to prepare rice and Sambar separately then after we combine both at final..
For 1 cup tool Dal we possible to 1 1/2 cup rice only,..
Hear for preparing Sambar I use beans, carrot, drumstick, potatoes, small onions, and all most all vegetables first I wash and chop. Then cook them along with Dal..
For this Sambar rice we specially use Turkey berry in Tamil it know as sundakaai.. It give special taste.
Small onions give additional taste, we use must this one also..
For Sambar powder we prepare on using all Indian spices this is another attraction.
Combining all vegetables, Dal we prepare Sambar first, then add boiled rice, now add curry leaves, ghee with it..
Mix well keep in Sim up to 15 minutes, then switch off the flame, then again leave it up to 30 minutes.. This time give extra taste to us, because in this time it mix all together..
Now it ready to serve.. All my family members loved and enjoyed a lot..
This recipe take up to 2 hours for complete preparation, so I am very tired today.. For preparing 8 members is not easy task, for cutting vegetables it take nearly 30 minutes today..
This Sambar rice with potato chips are good combination
Can I know how many members known about this dish??

Why did you combine the rice and sambar during preparation? They are prepared separately isn't it. While eating, the two are mixed together in plate as required isn't .
Everything else seem perfect.

@Lavanya15 yes I have tasted Bassi bilabath. Tastes similar to sambar rice.
Still sambar and rice or Sambar rice both tastes same. I have tasted both, didn't find any difference.

Yes you are correct, but on mixing together we add some spices this give amazing taste, this is the speciality of this dish.. This dish is very famous in Chennai..
If you ask in restaurants like Sambar Rice, they serve this dish along with chips,. Very famous hear..
If you keep separately it know as simply rice and Sambar.. Not Sambar rice..
In Bangalore it know as Basibbilabath.. Very famous there..
