Made The Trip Safe and Sound

Returned after midnight last night from a long and draining road trip.
But I am so thankful I was able to drive through the rain and thunderstorms to attend my uncle’s funeral.
Things went ok, the requests my uncle made were all done. I made sure of that part.
The rest of the story will be left behind. More drama than I preferred. Moving forward now.
He will be greatly missed. I hope he has now joined his two children who died before him.
May he rest in peace. See you soon my dear uncle.

I'm glad this bad experience is behind you, Carol. Now you have all those good memories of your beloved uncle, that no one can ever take away! As far as family drama goes, we've got that trash, also. I avoid it like the bubonic plague!

@CarolDM Now that so few family members have my phone number, it's peaceful!

I am sorry you didn't get to see him while he was alive, but it is good that you got to say your goodbyes at least. I too hope he has joined his children.

I'm thankful you had a safe trip through the storm, but so sorry people couldn't be decent enough at such a sad event. Your uncle was a wonderful man (I feel like I almost knew him) and I know you'll miss him.

That must have been really hard. So glad you made it hope safely. I am glad you were able to do his requests. I hope he is at peace now. How are you doing with him being gone besides missing him? Do you have lots of family left that you are in touch with?
