Yes! All done!

This discussion speaks about child abuse so please just know, I won't be offended if you decide not to read on. I've been trying to get some homework done and finally, with only an hour's nap last night, I have been awake all night and finally finished it. I actually have class today so I am glad it's all done, ready to be printed and handed in. We were given a true story to read about a little girl named Kiesha Abrahams and we had to write about the types of abuse this little girl was going through and what the indicators were. Then from there had to write who let the little girl down. Meaning, this girl kept getting back into the hands of her abusive mother so had to look at who failed to keep her safe. And then we had to write about what we would do if Kiesha was attending our childcare service. So who is Kiesha? Kiesha was a beautiful little girl who unfortunately had an abusive mother ( Kristi ). Once Kristi has carried Kiesha by the neck and dumped her on the lounge and when Kiesha tried to crawl away again, Kristi decided to bite her on the shoulder. Over the years Kristi was abusing her daughter by giving her black eyes, twisting her arms, verbally abusing her, not allowing her to visit family or go to school and more. Then one night, Kiesha was murdered by her mother. But the mother, instead of just coming clean, decided to tell the police her daughter was kidnapped. The truth was ( and this came out during a confession later ), Kiesha had been kicked in the head a few times, so much so her jaw broke in two places. She died overnight, her stepdad stuffed her body into a suitcase and left it in the little girl's bedroom for 5 days, then took it to a bush land near by where he would bury her. Kiesha was only 6 years old. Both the mother and stepdad have been jailed. There is way more to this story but that is how it ended. It's an Australian story but not sure if the story was taken elsewhere around the world. This also happened many years ago. I have cried many times reading this story and writing about it. It is 3:35am now and I have finally finished typing it all up. I had written so many notes about this story making sure I understood it correctly. I'm just proud of myself for all the effort I put into this including doing further research of this story online. The "mother" really is scum! Rumour has it she may have even murdered her first born ( Ayden ). It was put down to SIDS but, knowing what she is like it wouldn't surprise me she did something to him too. I have yet to answer my previous post about my Poppy, I'm sorry I will do that later today or tomorrow. I hope everyone is well and safe. Catch you all later. ****photo is mine of the story we were given and all my notes****

I felt bad after reading this incident as I thought it only happen in my country but this kind of thing happens in another country too. What was fault of that 6 years old child in all this? If they don't like it then simply give to child care but what that thing she needs to do with her own child. We felt for her and also felt pain just by reading then need to think much pain she felt who actually suffer from it. Day by day peoples starts to become evil I think.

@VivaLaDani13 Yes many sick and evil people who not think even for children too. Recently one father has killed her 6 months daughter just because she crying. Due to crying her father not able to sleep. People not even think about their own children so can say we are living in very bad world.

@birjudanak Sorry for my late reply. I've been busy with my course. oh no sadly these incidents happen all around the world. There are a lot of sick and evil people out there who will rape, hurt, kill etc other people including children. It's very horrible. I do agree with you, it does seem more and more people are coming out of the wood work these days.

@birjudanak That is so sad. It makes me both sad and angry. I completely agree with you. The world itself is so beautiful and amazing but a lot of the people out there are just evil!

A tough paper to write. Interesting that I did a paper on child abuse as well, while taking Clinical classes up at Sonoma State. This was about the same time I started working with abused kids in Oakland CA. Hope you're doing well overall!

@VivaLaDani13 Feel free to send me a copt of the text in a private message. I'm always open to new learning. I wrote my paper in the 1990s. I'm sure things have changed. Alas, I don't have it on this computer.

That's a very nice story but also emotional. The mum and step dad deserve the punishment.

That is such a sad, horrible story and the worst thing is, is that it's isn't an isolated case. Little children are very vulnerable. I hope you get really good marks for your assignment.

@VivaLaDani13 While it's lovely to have a reply, I don't check up on who does and doesn't so please don't stress. I do notice if someone NEVER responds or replies but otherwise I really wouldn't have much idea. I think your course to September. Is that right?

@JudyEv No worries and thank you for explaining that to me. I am pretty much the same way as you. It was originally September but due to the virus our schedule got rearranged. Now it's looking like October - November. I'm kinda glad as I feel I would be sad saying goodbye to the classes. So happy it's been extended just a tad.

@JudyEv Sorry for my late reply Judy, I've been busy with my course. That is true. So many children are going through hell even as we speak. It's very sad and unfair. And thank you very much. I'm still waiting for my results.

I skipped most of your post. Don't need any additional child issues in my brain I worked in social services for some time and have seen the results of child abuse and have also dealt with the abusers in one way and another. I did try to get into child social care but for reasons I won't go into I never made it. Funnily enough I was talking about this very same subject yesterday on here with someone in the child care sector. Anyway, I'll give you the exact word for word advice I got when I tried to go into LACS in my county (looked after children service)..."pucker up buttercup". That is exactly what I was first told...training and cases second hand are just that. They do not equate to doing it. I was told the case notes were sanitised and the reality would be beyond awful in some cases.

@Mike197602 Hey Mike! How are you? Sorry for my late reply, I have been busy. No worries about skipping most of this, that is completely understandable! I can understand why that was said. For working in such a career, you need to try suck it up to help yourself get through it so I get where you are coming from.
