It was After Me

The other night, I looked for my mobile phone in the dark but there was light from a street light sending beams through the window.
Suddenly, something showed up. I could not tell what it was but it was close to me. I tried to shoo it away and it jumped at me.
I struck out at it as a desperate measure and it hurt. I realized the shadow was from my arm. There is now a good-sized bruise on my arm because it was after me.
Am I the only one who does stuff like this? Do you have a silly story to share?

I imagined last night to see two eyes looking at me from the dark, the light through the window illuminated two buttons on the bag which made me think that some small eyes were looking at me

@akalinus How about the one when I was 10 years old. I got my first bike. I was still learning how to ride. I got off to turn around and didn't bother to move my body and fell over the back end of the bike and landed with my palm flat on the ground. Broken elbow. That's the klutz in me. It took another six weeks before I could ride my bike.

Oh, my! I hope you haven't done that very often, Dearheart.
I believe that everyone has done something similar sometime in their life.
Not long after Pretty and I moved into this house we hung a mirror in the hall between our rooms. We keep a dim nightlight in the hall so we can see to get to the bathroom without stumbling in the dark. One night I was walking toward the bathroom when I saw someone in the hall. It was too big to be Pretty so I thought someone had broken in. I yelled and punched him.
We replaced the mirror a few days later. Now, we keep a piece of black cloth covering the mirror with small pegs on the side of it. If you want to use the mirror you simply move the cloth to the pegs and drop the cloth again when you're finished with it.
And yes, I cut my hand open when I punched the mirror. Pretty came running out of her room and flipped the light on. *sigh* She started laughing and called me an idiot while patching me up.

@DaddyEvil People are going crazy. Between the virus and the demonstrations (riots) and strange goings-on in North Korea, this year is a whirlpool of weirdness. And it is an election year so it will get more interesting.
I am glad your test was negative. You don't need a killer virus.

@akalinus I try to avoid watching/hearing the news, especially during an election year. (I figure the actions of the person seeking election before they started seeking election tells me more than I really want to know about them and gives me an overview of how they will act in office. I don't care what promises they make. No elected official ever fulfills their election promises anyway.)
Thank you. None of us need to catch the coronavirus.

@akalinus we have lizards at home. They eat insects like moth. We have also a loud lizard that produces sound for a few seconds
