Poetry: The gentleness of a darkened light can be painful

This picture can only be seen because of the presence of darkness in light.

Love lived in itself before it lived in me. I lived outside of myself before I was free. The gentle coercion of myself to myself, was only achieved by love in myself, itself. Only in the darkness could I feel God's love. This was because I was paralysed by light. It frightened me so much with its great power. I preferred to stay fixed in the gentleness of darkness. Darkness might not be able to darken itself. Only lack of light can allow darkness to live. Love could not heal me from its light though, it could only heal me in my own darkness, gently. Darkness can be seen as darkness from light. Light can not be seen from darkness as darkness. Darkness and light mirror each other's ability, only when love connects the two, together as one. The gentle darknesses crept all around my small light, aggressively. I was progressively losing my hold on my light, retrogressively. The caressiveness of love can never be felt, possessively held onto. We need to embrace a concessiveness of expressiveness to love. great imagery in the poem, the gentle darkness crept all around my small light, to me touches on so many parts of what life is all about.

Thanks, Scott Imagery emerges from words, when words touch the imagery. Life touches love, when the love is touched by life. Love gives imagery to life, and life gives words to love.

@DocAndersen The master is saying that nothing shapes nothing then, so what is the point of such a life? The answer is that there is no point, you only feel it, if you sit down on it, unaware. The greatness of life does not depend on any outer greatness, but obtains its greatness from the core of that greatness remaining alive in you, so with the heart it refines itself to this core too, and anything not aligned to the core loses its way in life.

@innertalks the question the master was asked. does the heart shape life, or does the life shape the heart. The master replied, neither and never.

Yes, thanks. I like to play one idea off of another, contrasting the two, by dipping them both into the same substance/waters/light of love though.

Thanks. Yes, that photo is from a beautiful old town about an hour's drive from where I currently live. It has rolling hills there, and if all goes well, we hope to retire there, one day.

@SHOHANA Yes, I hope we can do that. The only problem is lack of medical facilities in those distant towns. Grocery buying is also limited, and it has an influx of touristy people every weekend, running riot, all over the town...lol. .Of course, the town mostly likes that, but they will often leave their rubbish behind.

Thanks. I like the idea of darkness being gentle towards us, and helping us too, in its way.

Darkness and light are classic dualities of creation. In fact, one complements the other to shine brighter. In life, too, we need to embrace phases of ups and downs and love is the secret weapon to ride through all phases to add spice to our journey here. They keep us on our toes too. We are never alone as our connection to our creator is ready on tap. We need to press on, even if we go through hell there should be light down the tunnel for those who do not lose hope - siva

Thanks, siva. Yes, we are never alone. Love presses in all around us, but do we let it in, or do we press back with our own reflective strength, like a magnet does. Turn our attitudes around, and we attract love. Turn it around again, and we repel love. Our alignment to love is our own choice, we must see.

@Shiva49 Thanks, siva. Well said. Living love, loves living, and that about sums up the way life should be lived, from love, for love, by love, in love.

@innertalks Yes Steve, when we are powered by love, our journey becomes seamless. The so called ups and downs in our lives look like feather beds! In a way, it will be like driving an electric car - no pollution, noiseless, easy on environment and lighter on our wallets too when the initial cost also becomes less than ICE vehicles - siva

It is hard when we are in the dark. It is hard when we spend more time in our lives in the dark than in the light. There is always a light at the end of every dark tunnel, as they say, but they seldom tell us how many dark tunnels we must go through, before there is only light.
