Wild Mint Smells Wonderful

The wild mint growing in a container in my screen room is doing great. Since this mint can be invasive, I grow it in a container. The cats can walk by and take a bite. They love it. Kind of like the cat mint you buy at a pet store, but better. Fresh and smells great. I also use the mint in my hot tea. Smells wonderful. My Grandmother and I used to drink hot tea with the mint she picked in her yard. Good memories.

We also have it growing in our yard--and I do end up pulling a lot of it out since it grows everywhere--but I also use it all the time in cooking--particularly in mid-eastern cooking--love it! Enjoy yours!!

We are growing mint too - but I have no idea what kind it is (it was from the fridge ). I'll bet the mint scent reminds you very much of your grandmother!

Because they grow in the wild. The piece of mint that started mine was taken from the wild.

This is one of the plants I wanted to plant. It can also be put in a jug with chilled water, it refreshes in the summer

Ooh, I’ll bet that does smell good! Tell me, does the mint plant smell minty on its own, or do you have to “irritate” the plant to get the aroma? I may have to run to Lowe’s and get some of those plants!

It smells on its own, and more so when I water it. This grows wild here.

I used to grow my own mint as well, and I would not only add it to my tea, but I would also just chew on the leaves, just as your cats do. You are right in that it smells and tastes great!

It's good to keep mint in a container. It's not that easy to pull out if it decides to go wandering.
