Blacked out

I still remember very vivividly of an accident during my childhood. It was the Diwali festival and just like other kids I was bursting crackers infront of my house. I must be around 12 years of age and didn't feel the need for adult supervision . One of the fire cracker I had ignited didn't burst and so out of curiosity I went closer to check what happened. Within seconds the cracker burst right close to my face and I fell on the floor. I opened my eyes but couldn't see anything. I started to cry. Seeing me crying and realising what might have happened my mother put water in my eyes and cleaned my face. For about 10 minutes I layed on my mother's lap with my eyes closed . Slowly i opened my eyes and was able to sea clearly without any pain. Me and my mother thanked God for returning my vision. That day I promised God that I will always be careful. Have you faced such accidents in life? What lesson did you learn?

I have never lit any kind of fireworks because I have heard too many horror stories of accidents that have happened. You are truly blessed that your sight came back.

@jayanth_77 That is so true. At least this was a lesson learned.

@jayanth_77 That sounds awful. Your mother knew what to do. She came to our rescue. I am glad you could see after she put cold water on your face. I never experienced that but I have provoked people and had to learn to keep my mouth shut after that.

Our vision is so precious. You know there is a story here someone who had stayed long hours under the sun then took a shower after that. His vision went black, totally black, I did not know what they did, but after some while, he could see again. but he was just fortunate that he did not lose his vision.

yes we should never take s shower immediately after standing for long hours in the sun . The sudden change in temperature contracts the blood vessels temporarily. But if their are underlying medical condition like BP of heart problem it could prove fatal.

A firework went off near me when someone threw it. I have been uneasy around fireworks ever since. Actually, as a pet owner I wouldnt be setting fireworks off anyway. I would ban them.
