The title is befitting, it's an incredible moment to listen to Governor Andrew Cuomo announce the good news - New York has won the battle against CoViD-19. Congratulations, New Yorkers, you truly are New York Tough. Way to go, Governor Cuomo, a leader is only as good as the behavior of the people whom he leads. You have done well. An example Bar None for the rest of the world. Blessings, they say, do come to those who know how to express gratitude, and you have done that, Governor. Our turn to say Thank You, too.

@aureliah True. It's getting more difficult with the added political and civil unrest, more natural calamities and superfluous discriminatory battering.

This is absolutely great news! New York was the worst hit when all this started and to hear that they have kicked out the virus for good is something to applaud. Hope it continues to remain so

Not over yet. The coronavirus has not dissipated in New York. Just that New York was able to control the morbidity and mortality.

@cmoneyspinner Yes, I have a couple of friends in Texas, too. Hope springs eternal but this CoViD-19 has a strong strain. The average age of the infected is now 37. That is really bad.

@eileenleyva - Scientists all over the world are searching for a cure. I don't care who finds the remedy. Just find it and save the world with it!

Read the article it is not exactly what he said. He said that they are reopening and they did a good job to control the virus NOT that they won the battle
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said the state has “done the impossible” by controlling the coronavirus, going from the epicenter of the disease to one of the leading states containing it. C…

@LadyDuck Yes, winning a battle is not a guarantee of winning the war. Thus far, America is losing right now.

It was a figurative language. If the CoViD-19 is a war, a battle was won in New York. For example, in World War II, America won the Battle of Midway a few months after the Bombing of Pearl Harbor. That was in June 1943. The war was not over.

@eileenleyva No, the war is far to be over and also winning a battle does not mean that you will win the war... as you mentioned WWII Germans won several battles before being defeated.

That is good news. It is slowing down here too, but we are all dreading the second wave if it comes.

That is definitely good news. The important thing is not to let your guard down. As the Governor said - 'Be smart.'

That's good news. Finally New York is free from the COVID pandemic. But it's not the time to relax. Any complacency can cause a 2nd wave. So testing and social distancing should continue for some more time.

New York is not yet CoViD-19 free. The coronavirus still lurks. But New York has controlled the spread and minimized the infection and casualties.

Indeed 'a job well done' for the New Yorkers. An example for the rest of America and the rest of the world, too.
