Am a little picky in movies and that's why many times I miss some of the greatest movies ever made in India and just today I was changing channels on TV and came across a movie which is basically a South Indian movie and it was dubbed in Hindi and actually am njoying this movie.
It's about cyber crime and things related to it.

I am a picky movie watcher and prefer to watch movies in English although occasionally I will watch a French movie or Italian. My wife would watch Indian movies all day long but I don't like them. Boy meets girl family don't agree arrange marriage, ex boyfriend elopes with girl, family seek revenge, fighting dancing singing crying then the couple win and live happily ever after! Nope not my scene.
Your movie sound infinitely better!

Yes some of the movies are like that and even I don't prefer these. The one I was watching today was a good one and I'll try to tape it to watch it some other day because I couldn't watch it fully

Your wife must have watched DDLJ or HAHK? (1990s high melodrama movies).

I too am a picky movie watcher. I don't go by public opinion. I read articles and reviews about a newly released movie. If they are good and the hero is among my favourites then I watch. I am not crazy to watch a movie 1st day 1st show . I wait for the dust to settle down.

In a way yes. There have been some hits which I did not watch, but there have been movies which were not hit like "The Murder on the Orient Express(2017)- Hercule Poirot" which I have enjoyed watching a lot.
I think it is fine if one chooses to watch based on one's interest rather than being unduly influenced by others' choices or influences.
