I live in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. We aren't in the South. Homemade biscuits aren't really a thing here. Cheesesteaks and sausage and pepper sandwiches and pizza are more our style.
I make them sometimes, though, when I'm bored or want something to put my breakfast fried egg on. Today it is the bored thing. I had the buttermilk on hand as well as the other basic ingredients (butter, flour, baking soda, baking powder, sugar, and salt).
Sometimes I add shredded cheddar to the mix (which isn't called for) but I don't have any so they won't be much of an imitation of Red Lobster's Cheddar Bay biscuits. I do that sometimes.
Do you make homemade biscuits?
These Buttermilk Drop Biscuits are unbelievably easy, yet they still have all those irresistible buttery flavors of the classic buttermilk biscuits.

I used to when I was able to cook. Sausage gravy and biscuits was one of our favorites.

I used to make biscuits about everyday when my kids were growing up, now that their grow, I hardly ever make them.
My grandson is coming next month, so I know I will be making some then, he's always asking me to make them while he's here. When I make biscuits, I just use self rising flour, shortening and buttermilk, they are so good with jelly ane butter.
