Do you know when your local library will open again?

I think most of you in my lot land have been deprived of going to our local library buildings to pick out paper books to borrow since sometime in mid-March. (at least that is when my state closed them)
I am sure many of you suffered as much as I did. It was worse than torture knowing I could not go to my library which is my favorite place in the world!
BUT GOOD NEWS FOR ME!
Phyllis, one of my favorite librarians from the library called me and told me two important things:
1) The library book club where I go will have our next meeting on the fourth Saturday of July!
2) the library will open to everybody this coming Monday! (Jue 29th!) right now people can make appointments for computer use and that will not change. I don't use the computers there so no worries about that!)
for those of you who are wondering, my book club will be reading "between sisters" my Kristin Hannah.if this book is as great her book "Winter Garden" then I am in for a real treat as I adored Winter Garden!!!
Do you know when your library will open again?
Bonus question: will you go to the library or do you want to wait for a while? I a, going Monday morning!

I hope our library will open up on Monday, June 29th! I miss going there for a book, each week. And the ladies who work there, I miss them very much

I adore the ladies who work there and have a close relationship with them all!
I have been missing my visits, too! I hope that I can be one of the first patrons that day!
Will you go as soon as it is open, or don't you feel safe enough?

@Marty1 I will be knocking on the door, five minutes before they open up! LOL Feel safe? Yes, I've felt safe for the past three months. I go nowhere(usually)and don't socialize(usually). This is how I have always lived.

Have you gone to any of the libraries that are open yet?
was the library on your campus under renovation before the quarantine and had to be stopped for a while, or is it something new?

@Marty1 local libraries yes I have went since the campus library are off.
The campus library was closed during lockdown, they just opened it this June, and they take this time to renovate also. So I guess the closing of the operation will be extended till I further notice.

Our city public libraries are still closed - I have no idea when they will reopen. The county libraries are also still closed, but some of them have sidewalk service/pick up as of earlier this month - but the closest ones are still a bit of a drive for us. I love libraries and we used to go all the time before all this, but I have mixed feelings about it for now. At the moment we still have library books from months ago that we still cannot return.

@Marty1 I think there was only one book I stopped reading and I can’t remember the name of it. As for goals this year on reading I am looking to beat 127 and I know I will do so.i hope you find some good books to read when you go to the library.

@Tina30219 I never write down the names of the books I don't finish, so I can't remember the names, either, I just know it is not many!
I didn't go to the library yet, but will go Thursday as I requested several books from other libraries and my library called they have them for me

Not all the libraries around me are opening. My library opened Monday to limited hours.
I was a little afraid to go on Monday, but my sister talked me into going another day. I will go Thursday as they will be open longer, as most days they are open a few hours.
All the libraries in my county started accepting books back at only the book drops at the beginning of June. Books checked out before libraries closed had to be returned before June 30 after that late fines will be started.

@Marty1 I found out some are open but some are not. Makes no sense to me. My library is closed and I do wish it was open so I can print some labels I need printed. But I have other places for that. I am also looking into buying a small simple printer maybe. Don't know yet. I had many printers over the years but they never stay supported. As for getting books, well, I understand. I have many books of mown but am looking to eliminate some. But I will most likely keep all my Stephen King books.

Did you find out yet? Do you plan on going when the library opens? it probably will be in a limited capacity, My library is only open for its regular business hours two days a week and takes an hour for cleaning, but they are open a few hours for the other days of the week

@inertia4 Yes, I noticed that too. My library is open but I looked up other library websites and some are closed. I have no idea why either
I have a problem with printers too, my printer is never working
i have many, may books i own and thousands in my Kindle. I plan to take books i read to the half price book store and get more books to replace them.
i don't have any Stephen King books as I am always afraid his books will be to scary.

I don’t know when our County libraries will open, but I’m setting up our Church library, hoping that it’s ready to open soon.

@Michellekidwell that sounds like a super library to go to. Do you use your Church library or public library when open to borrow books to read?

@Tina30219 I like both types, but I think that I like a printed book better for most of the books that I want to read.
What is your goal for books this year? Regardless of the number of goals for the year, you are doing a fantastic job in the number of books you read this year so far! Congratulations on those 75 books!
Did you have any books that you started and were so bad that you didn't finish them? I had a few that were bad, but it was unusual that I didn't finish the book. Though there were one or two terrible books that were so boring, So boring, I forget the names of them as I didn't write down the titles of them!!!

@paigea were you able to browse. I skipped going Monday but will go Thursday; Their Facebook page says if one touches a book and does not borrow it, the book(s) go into a three-day quarantine that means others can't touch it for three days.
Is that how it was at your library?

I'm not a member so didn't know but my most local library is open from 4th july.
I wonder if they'll be some sort of waiting period to borrow books that've just been returned so they don't potentially spread the virus.

I didn't go on Monday but plan on going to Thursday, and their Facebook page says a person should come in knowing what book (s) we want as if we touch a book to read what it is about, all those books go into another three-day quarantine where nobody will be able to read it for three days.
