Yay! I got a refund

To make a long story short, I have discussed that I am going to see family over the 4th. The original plan was to fly, but due to flight times etc. It just wasn't going to work out without spending a bundle, and being anxious due to Covid. So, anyway, when I had booked this it was through Expedia and they said free cancellation. I would not have made the flight reservation otherwise.(Going up with nephew instead) Anyway, then they were trying to give me flight credit when I said I wanted to cancel..I was like no Thanks, I want a refund. They checked with American and said it was either or, I said refund please, but then American was giving me problems about it. Lo, and Behold I got the notice my refund has been processed...yay! I thought this was going to turn into a big thing, but it's not..Thanks American Airlines!

So am I..I am really happy, now of course my tire looks low on air..the universe just couldn't let me be too happy!

I'm glad American came through for you. Have you seen this funny video? I actually talked to the guy who made it after United (the devil, if you're a musician) broke my guitar in Chicago too. I was on my way back from visiting a musician friend in Austria. Mine was a Larrivee, not a Taylor.

Wow, that's sad. I will watch it. It reminds me of the time sis ran over my Epiphone in the garage. She wouldn't take any repsonsibility..All she said was "Well what was it doing there?" I was obviously getting ready to go some place.

@TheHorse No, well maybe I had a cheap one after that. I couldn't tune it which was my major frustration with guitar playing.. I always had to have someone do it for me. I have a decent ear too. I just couldn't figure out why it never sounded right.

I wasn't that worried about flying with mask and hand sanitizer at the ready, but the choices of flight times weren't very good, and staying overnight in Baltimore at a hotel was extremely expensive. (much more than when we have done it in the past)I maybe should have gone from Richmond which was my first idea, but I didn't make the reservation on time and the next day it was up by like 80 bucks or something..

Yeah, you are right. I was pretty sure I was going to have to get my credit card company involved. They are pretty good about backing their customers, but it all worked out fortunately.

That's great. I had the choice, too, when Jet Blue wanted to send us to any state except New York. No could do. I opted for a refund, because I wasn't sure the virus would be gone by the beginning of December. I was right. They did offer to give us two years. My friend only received credit for one year. She's not too happy about it.

It's nice to hear an airline did something good. You rarely hear anything but bad about airlines nowadays.
