And the Rains Came...At Long Last!
June 29, 2020 7:19am CST
Yesterday morning started out sunny and breezy, and the afternoon was more of the same till around 3 p.m. It started clouding up then, but still no rain. I could hear low thunder in the distance and started hoping. It stayed dark like that for quite some time, and finally, at around 7 p.m., it started raining. Not much wind, and the rain was heavy but not a downpour. It kept up off and on all night and it's still sprinkling right now. The air is fresh and clean, and the ground is soaked. The rain knocked the daisies over, as it always does once they reach their full height. They're not very sturdy flowers so it takes nothing at all to cause them to droop. Once it dries up out there, I'll have to cut them all back like I do every year. The rest of the flowers, though, look fine. I'm so glad it finally rained, though. A few drooping flowers was a small price to pay for it. (Free Use Photo)

They will next year, as they're perennial. I'm used to it. I've got fewer as I've thinned them out, so I don't have to tie them back anymore like I did a few years ago. Once they bend over, they start dying, so it makes good aesthetic sense to just cut them.
