Strawberries and sugar

Yummy, my favorite combo for when I have strawberries. Maybe because it brings back good memories of being little and my mom and dad dad slice them up in chunks and then putting sugar on them when they gave them to me and my brothers. I also dip them when they are whole into sugar.
My kids saw me eating like this and thought it was odd. This is how mommy likes them and I know my kids eating just as is with the tops cut off which is fine.

I used to love eating strawberries dipped in sugar! But these days, I'm trying to limit my sugar consumption, so I don't dip the strawberries anymore when I eat them.

@ShyBear88 Yeah, sugar was a big deal when we were kids. We just couldn't get enough of it. Now, we get too much of it! Hello Diabetes! lol

They are really yummy that way. It's also nice to have them strawberry shortcake style from time to time.

@ShyBear88 I also like a strawberry salad dessert which is just layers of jello, pretzels, strawberries and whipped cream.

@ShyBear88 I forgot to mention sometimes we would put whipped cream on top. I smashed the strawberries - with the sugar, milk, and cream . . . ohhh, like thick strawberry milk!

Strawberries and Sugar.
My absolute favorite taste of summer.
Last night and the night before we had Strawberries without Sugar and it just wasnt as good.

Sounds like an interesting combo! I've never tried it that way. I'm not crazy about strawberries but may be next time when I get strawberries I'll give it a try and who knows?! it might make me start loving it!

Maybe you will try it. My daughter asked me about today when she wanted her own strawberries and I had some sugar at the bottom of my bowl. I’ll have to ask her later if she liked it or not.

Yes and I’m not a fan of whipped cream but my husband and kids do. The kids like there strawberries sliced and with whipped cream or cool whip on the side. Even chocolate or straight strawberries

Yes! For many years the kids have seen me eat strawberries the same way they do so it’s not odd that they found it odd that I had sugar with mine.
