Well, That Won't Work

I purchased window coverings for a rather large window in our son's condominium. I ordered 4 long window panels, and one of the panels is about 1-inch shorter than the other 3 panels. In my younger days, I would have done the following to make all 4 of the panels the same length: 1. I would have removed the stitching from the hems of all 4 panels., 2. I would have ironed the bottom of the 4 hem-less panels so that the creases caused by the fold of each hem were nice and flat. 3. Then, I would have used my handy-dandy sewing scissors to cut the bottom of each of the 4 panels so that all 4 panels were of the same length. 4. After that, I would have sewn new hems that resulted in all 4 panels being of the same length. In my older days, this is what I am going to do: 1. I will hang only the three panels that are of the same length.

Debbie, you made a good point. We bought drapes for our big living room window and one panel is too short. What did we do about this? We leave the curtains open all day long! If we don't mention it, no one ever notices
I would do the very same, and then return the one that is not the correct length and try to find something nice to buy with the store credit that you will receive. Don't forget to remind your son how lucky he is that his sweet mother is helping him like this.
@Corbin5 I know the feeling. I just texted our son that he and his wife should not be shopping at Home Sense prior to their move until they see us first. I have a $100 gift card to put into a card for them to help them get settled when they move. And that is just because of them being such sweethearts.
