It's July first, the middle month of summer WITH the hottest day of the year, so says several sites I've visited. So said my mother the day I was born on the hottest day of summer in 1953. Yes, this is my birthday month. And though July might be my favorite month because it's my birthday, winter is my favorite season. I don't melt in winter. I can layer it on to keep warm, but in summer, there is no way you can take enough off to be cool and be decent unless you're taking a shower.
Today no rain expected on this hot and humid first day of July. We're supposed to reach 88 today with feels like temps in the 90s. The dew point is in the 70s. That spells MUGGY. My windows are open and my ceiling fans are going. No, I'm not turning on the A/C. Number 1 - I can't reach it.
I've had a good morning so far. Yes, I was in the pool at five this morning after a decent night's sleep of almost 6 hours. I also worked on Vendetta and now, I'm ready to interact here.
But first, before I forget, I need to take a time out to get my hourly steps. Okay, that's taken care of. It's so easy to lose track of time.
That leads me to the health report for yesterday. I did very well considering how much I ate yesterday. Today is already better than yesterday. I also did well with fitness. Here are the numbers.

I looked up the daily requirement for potassium and it's quite high, 4700 mg. I don't get that much a day. I wouldn't lose weight. Sodium and potassium help the muscles. I haven't talked to my doctor about it. It's not a supplement, it's just the regular food I eat. I just started paying attention to how much I'm getting a day.

Happy birthday month! We still have June gloom this morning . . . I suspect we'll get in the 100s by August. Honestly, I think I do better in heat rather than the cold. You did well yesterday . . . I've been having too many high carbs lately - my body is feeling kinda blah right now.

I hope you will have a good birthday this month! Your numbers look pretty good to me, and that's always nice to lose the water weight.

Oh, when I read your reports I really feel how lax I am about diet and exercise. I'm just terrribly lazy about it. I'm trying to eat a balanced diet to keep my immunity up and I'm pretty good about that, but I'm not on a diet or trying to lose weight right now. I use a little foot cycle every day to try to keep my knees working. And I have little two pound weights and an elastic stretch thing, trying to keep my upper arms firmer in the summer. I go walking with my son & one of his dogs at 7 in the evening if it's not too hot at that time.
I hate summer, I don't get along with the heat at all. At least here in Santa Fe it's not humid, I couldn't stand that. It doesn't get to 100 here like it did in Paradise. We have some 90 degree days coming next week though and that's plenty hot here due to the altitude. That sun feels awfully close. Here it normally does cool off in the night, which helps a great deal. Our last summer in Paradise was excruciating, day after day of 100 or so and not much night cooling.
I like winter, too, especially when it snows. I hope you can keep cool and out of the humidity. I don't see how you can if you don't turn on the a/c, lol.

It sounds like you're doing well with exercise.
As you can see in the picture, I can't get to it. I would need to rearrange the living room again, and I'm not going to do that. The ceiling fans help quite a bit.
It's good you don't have the humidity. It can get unbearable with the humidity here.

Start before it's too late. You don't want to get grossly overweight like I was when I started this plan four years ago.
