Weird Word Wednesday- Monophobia

Hello! I used to post a weird word every Wednesday night. I got distracted with other things and stopped doing it several months ago. I'm a self-proclaimed word nerd so I've decided to try again... Monophobia's definition makes sense, because mono means one or alone. I had never heard this word before tonight. I don't fear being alone. In fact, I enjoy it! Considering the Corona Virus Pandemic, 'monophobia' is a timely word. Many people have had to spend time alone in the past few months. I think it was difficult for those who were not used to it. Are you familiar with this word? Do you fear being alone?

Welcome back Weird Word Wednesday! Dare I say that I am probably not alone in knowing the meaning of monophobia. The word solo also means the same as mono, or does it. Although Hans Mono doesn't have the same ring it. I am often on my own and you can probably see why.

@BloggerDi There seems to be lots of phobias out there. One favourite of mine is 'Anatidaephobia' which is the fear that somewhere, somehow, a duck is watching you. Made up by a comedian who was obviously quackers.

Being alone doesn't worry me as my husband is here too but I'm sure some who live on their own must have found it very hard over the last few months.

@BloggerDi We have a friend who lives alone. She enjoys going to work and she has a separate group of friends who often meet up for coffee or outings. She has found it very hard.
