Thanks to the efforts of the brave firefighters who work with La Grange Park firefighters, three persons who were trapped in Salt Creek near the Brezina Woods Forest Reserve were rescued on Thursday. The incident began when an 11 year old girl fell into the creek and was swept away by the rough waters. The child managed to hang on to a branch. Two males who attempted to rescue the young girl were trapped in the rough waters of the creek. The trio must have has a guardian angel looking for them since by the time the firefighters arrived to rescue them, the trio were holding on to a log. The firefighters were able to use a water rescue line to get the girl away from danger in the creek to the shore followed by the two males. The good news is that the paramedics examined them on the spot, they were released unharmed. Two of the firefighters were treated for minor injuries by the paramedics. The question I have is, where were the parents or caretakers of the girl when she fell into the creek that must have on a rush of water at the time of the incident? The trio are lucky to be alive since rough waters usually end in tragedy.

@amitkokiladitya I have seen first hand when my relatives and myself would go visit my grandmother in the interior of Panama. Some of those rivers when they were rolling down the hill were nasty.

It really is since the majority of the time when someone gets caught in a strong body of water, it is a tragic ending.

That is true since raging water most of the time ends in a tragic ending.

I agree with you a happy ending is better than a sad ending.

It was a blessing that they were able to rescue the girl. And you are right, where is the girl's parents or guardian?

I mean common sense dictates that a guardian should be looking for a child in a public place.

She's 11-years-old and kids that age have a very independent nature. She probably didn't think she would get into any trouble. I'm glad she's okay and the two who tried to rescue her too.

Well, the important is that the trio were saved, better start interrogating the parents.

I agree with you since common sense tells all of us that a guardian is responsible to watch children.

I agree with you since running bodies of water are nothing to mess with.
