Will today bring a package?

I ordered something online and have been receiving emails as to the progress of the package. It is now in Japan at the airport, as of last night, and depending on where the company's delivery hub is, it is possible it might arrive today!
I have to be aware of such things because my doorbell is kind of unreliable. I am always getting "you weren't home" delivery notices and since they don't just leave things at your door, I have to call them and apply for it to be delivered again. Often if I know a delivery is coming I will put a sign on the doorbell to knock on the door, but today it is raining and the sign would be illegible or gone before long. So I am just listening for a truck sound, stopping outside my house.
Do you have to sign for packages or do they put them on your porch or in your box? (I'm glad we still have the in-person delivery system here.)
I will let you know what it is once it is installed. I am really excited!

I usually have to sign for a package that comes via either UPS or the postal service, But it is rare in my case,

@petatonicsca In my neighborhood, I have to be alert to when the package arrives since a lot of sticky fingered neighbors are looking.

@Deepizzaguy I can believe that. Even in Japan we have sticky fingered thieves. One of them, we think, lives in our neighborhood because one of our homes is broken into about once every six months during the day when the occupant is at work. Creepy. Got into my house through an upstairs window but I don't keep money in the house and they didn't take anything.

That's good. I've heard horror stories about packages in the States being hidden in "safe" places by delivery people, and the people they are addressed to not finding them either.

I'm also waiting for a package and hope to get it delivered on Monday . It is already delayed by a week

I was surprised it is here so fast, at least it is in Japan. It had to go from Panama through US customs (I don't understand that bit) and then through Japan customs (since it is coming here) and at least it is at the airport. Japan often depends on commercial flights to carry mail so things are sometimes really slow because the borders are still closed as much as possible to US flights.
