Is this our problem today?

Today I read this. It's from a sermon by St. Augustine, who lived in the fourth and fifth century. "I acknowledge my transgression, says David. If I admit my fault, then You will pardon it....But men are hopeless creatures, and the less they concentrate on their own sins, the more interested they become in the sins of others." The anger being shown over things like being required to wear face masks has just baffled me. I think this may point to the root of the problem, and if you don't believe in "sins" then you can say "mistakes" instead. If a person is not willing to admit their mistakes, and change, then not only will they not improve, they will also be picking on other people. I think this is similar to what Jesus said: "Take the log out of your own eye before you take the speck out of your brothers' eye." I am just as guilty as anyone of not liking to admit my sins and mistakes and faults, but when I do, I can see that there are generally two or more sides to any argument and I can accept people rather than trying to make them pay attention to ME. Augustine didn't have the Internet. He just had to observe humans around him to learn this. Now that we do have the Internet, I think we see it more every day. Do you think the inability to admit one has faults is part of humanity's problem?

It is the human tendency to find small faults in others while neglecting big ones made by self.

It's a fact we remember the bad things or sins of others than their good things and believe we don't do any sins

I'm sure it is. People are prepared even to LISTEN to another point of view. They don't even want to consider that there might be another way of viewing a situation.

I hate people who will never accept their mistakes. And of I'm wrong I will never take long to apologise and accept my mistake.
