My Goodreads goal for this year was 55 books. I had that goal last year but did not reach it. I was doing well but then the pandemic hit and the libraries shut down so I am way behind. I did buy a few books but I am not gonna keep buying stuff, so I doubt I will reach the goal this year. I think I read 27 books this year so far. Half way to go. Can't wait for the libraries to reopen, even though they will just be a grab and go kinda thing for now. But I usually never sit in the library anyway. I look for books to borrow and then leave.

I used to love browsing the library. That used to be how I found new books but then we moved and the library here kind of sucks so I ended up buying and it just became a thing. Hence my personal library lol. I do know quite a few people though that depend on the library for books so I hope they open soon or at least let you start picking up. My goals on Goodreads is usually whatever I read the following year to see if I can make it again or top it. I think the highest I've gone is 240 and I haven't made it there again so far.

@JordanLader Not last year but the year before, my goal was 50 books and I read 52. So last year I made it 55 books. Didn't get to reach it, so kept the goal the same for this year. Not sure if I will get to reach it this year either because of the library closing. Unless I manage to take out books that are very small in size. Since we can only place books on hold and then come to pick them up, and I have no idea how long that will take, that will delay the reading. I'd love to buy books but it becomes expensive when you keep buying books and I can't afford that. I will still buy new books from the few authors I love that I always buy books from. But other than that, I won't be buying, unless I come across something I really have to have.

@lovebuglena That's why I miss half.com. It was so cheap to pick up decent books but ebay decided to take them away :( I do hope they open your libraries soon though.

Excellent, good job! I did not make a goal but I believe I just surpassed 50 for the year. Or maybe it was 40. Now I can’t remember. Happy Reading!
