Tuesday Chit Chat

Happy Tuesday Everyone! it's a muggy, hot and humid day here in my little corner of the myLot world. We had thunderstorms in surrounding counties yesterday but we didn't even get a drop of rain. The sky was ominous and I expected a downpour at any moment. But nothing. Today more thunderstorms are predicted but the sky doesn't look too bad this morning even though the sun isn't shining. My daughter went to work so it's just me and the pups. I'm hoping she has an easy day and doesn't get stuck in any downpours, etc. For me, my day will be pretty much the same. Of course there's always the things that need doing around the house so that gets priority before I can sit and relax. Looks like we're taking a huge step backwards where Covid is concerned. I'm not surprised and am really hoping all our months of being in quarantine wasn't for nothing. What fun things are you up to today?

Not humid here, but it's going to be hot. I set up the fan and put the little swamp cooler on top of the curio cabinet where the cat can't reach it. Can't send for the big swamp cooler till my next SS payday, another week. Haven't had to turn the fan and cooler on yet but it won't be long. I do have hopes it might cloud up this afternoon and hide the sun for some cooling. Or even rain, that would be refreshing. Same old ordinary day planned. Being here, and Facebook, and watching my old soap opera episodes. It's amazing how people kept the tapes all these years just waiting for youtube to come along, lol. I sure didn't keep mine! I recorded over them over and over again. Have a great day! Hope you stay well.

@Marilynda1225 I watched GH for awhile, around the time Carly first showed up. The first Carly was really good. She sure stirred things up in Port Charles!

I remember the days of recording soaps but we also taped over them too. I'm a big General Hospital fan and it's fun to see old episodes being played now that no new ones are being aired.

The quarantine slowed the virus down but it was inevitable that it would flare back up as soon as people start to socialize. But the good news is the deaths have really slowed down, we had none in CT today.

@Marilynda1225 The testing will make more cases show up and of course, there are undoubtedly many asymptomatic cases as well.

I'm still leery about going out and being around people. Thankfully I really don't have to go anywhere . It is good news that the deaths have slowed down but the quick rise in cases is still pretty scary.

Today is the hottest day in our forecast, it was hot and sticky outside before 6am when I went out. Thank goodness for a/c and good cold drinks thru the day. Sorry that your cases are on the rise. Do not let your guard down, stay safe and please be careful.

@Marilynda1225 No, you don't sound like my Mom, you are a caring sweet friend. I am being as careful as I can be. We have been restricted all but the past couple of weeks here, and even since then we do not have a lot of people in our bubble. Here people go out to parking lots, and they socially distance there. We drove by a coffee shop and there were some retirees sitting in their lawn chairs all about 6 or 8 feet apart and chatting. Its the way that we have to do things today. When I am out, I only touch what I need to, especially in the stores. I try not to touch anything that someone else may have touched. I dread the thought of going out this Friday to pick up a new outfit for my hubby, but he desperately needs some cool clothing, and that means that I need to get out and buy it. I will go to a store that I trust and doesn't have a high volume of shoppers. I will tap to pay, I haven't keyed in my PIN in months.

thankfully I don't really have any place to go and I'm still very leery about going out and being around people. Our salon opened but I'm still holding off before I go and get my haircut. Hope you're keeping yourself safe too Julia (now I sound like your mom )

A chilly wind blew during the night, we had a wonderful fresh day with blue sky. My days are more or less the same all the time.

I was supposed to mow and water. Distracted myself with a crafty project. I will have to wait for evening to mow. It is just too hot.

Probably better to wait and not do the mowing in the heat of the day. I'm easily distracted by a craft project

Nothing really fun, just getting caught up on stuff I didn't do while I was gone. Trying to get caught up with a lawn service that is supposed to be cutting grass and greenery around here. It's muggy here but so far no rain. I think Covid is sort of holding steady here.

We didn't get any rain today either even though they said thunderstorms this afternoon. Hope you can get the whole lawn service thing going

Yeah, that virus is going to do it again, just like that Spanish flu did in 1918. This time I think many people will be better prepared to fight the resurgence ....... just not those bozos in Alabama who have Covid parties

It makes me shake my head at how some people are so blasé about the virus and how easily it spreads.

Our state of Victoria has had a massive increase in positive cases and it's a nightmare over there. All their borders are closed.

Wow! I'm not surprised that we're seeing a surge once again. I doubt though that we'll be under mandatory quarantine again as things keep opening up. It's sad to watch the news and see how blasé some people are and acting as if the virus doesn't exist.

We had thunderstorms in surrounding areas but it bypassed us. From what the weather alert was saying the storms were pretty bad.

Good Morning! We are to expect storms too but it's bright and sunny at the moment. I am hoping for some rain too! Hopefully your daughter doesn't get stuck in it. I went to the grocery store this morning. The only other thing needing doing has already been done. So now I just have time to spend doing what I want. Enjoy Your Day!

Turned out we didn't get any rain at all. Alerts keep coming on my phone but guess it's only hitting surrounding areas and not us.

Nothing much to chit chat about today, except that it's cloudy here today and much cooler. No rain forecasted. I did get in a very early walk this morning and was done with 4 miles in an hour.
