Has Your Area Seen A Second Wave?

Yes, I am talking about with the Virus. Here we definitely are in one it would seem. Maybe not my town specifically, but the state. Since yesterday there were over 400 new cases (confirmed and probable). Before the 2nd wave, we were seeing at the most 50 new cases. But the past week or two it's been 200+ daily. If you are seeing more cases, is there a mandatory mask law? Here there is in 2 or 3 counties.

To be honest I stopped paying that much attention to the state of the virus now. Lockdown is keeping it in check in Scotland. Lockdown kept it in check in many places. But we all know what has happened inna lot of places. It gets a grip again. And that will happen here also when lockdown loosens and people can gather with more people. Masks will be law on public transport and in shops from Friday.

I don't think we've even ended the first wave . . . we have not gone down in numbers low enough to even start the second. We have been required to wear masks from a long time ago in our county.

Well, here at least it seems like a "second wave" because the numbers were steady and now they are 5x as bad. So sorry if I was wrong. Sorry you have been required to wear them a long time already

@MommyOfEli2013 No need to be sorry . The numbers and stages can be so different depending on where you are (I'm in Los Angeles, CA). I think things would have been different had we not reopened so quickly . . . but well, here we are. We wore masks from early on, so we've gotten used to it to a point . . . I just hope one day we won't have to wear them anymore (meaning I hope we get out of this pandemic ).

@much2say Well I still feel bad. Yes they can, from state to state and even city to city. Yes, I think most places reopened too soon. We did good till the end of our final reopening stage. That's good you have got used to the masks, but it still would get tiring. I know I am exhausted mentally from all of this. I sure hope we get out of this pandemic!

The virus is still in my state. Masks are required at hospitals and many supermarkets.

@Deepizzaguy Well, I say that, but I don't always wear them when I go out. I am glad they aren't mandatory here.

I think it is in most states still, just wondered if it was getting worse like it is here. That's good that masks are required in certain places.

@MommyOfEli2013 but as of now, all public areas like supermarket, banks are needed to wear. Just the jogging place, no need to wear. But! Always be cautious.

A couple of counties have made mask laws, not mine yet and from what I hear they are being ignored by many. But they are talking about pulling back on the reopening some.

@MommyOfEli2013 It is up to 7 counties that are supposed to wear masks and they are trying to fine if you dont. Ay least one county is doing their fair starting the 20th. Unless they change it again.

@wolfgirl569 Oh wow, that is quite a few then. Hopefully a time soon will come when we don't have to wear them anymore, unless a person still wants to of course. That is good one county is doing their fair, hopefully. Not sure if the two big fairs are going to happen here, ones in August and another in September.

That's good yours don't have the law yet, well depends how you look at it I guess. Here I know there are fines if you ignore those laws. Sorry they are talking about that, but maybe they did open things up too soon. Here they left things in stage 4.

We are in the second wave. I haven't heard about a mandatory mask law; but there should be.

Well hope the 2nd wave gets over quick...although I know it realistically won't. Sorry there isn't a mask law there. I'm glad we don't currently.
