Respect for our flag and what it stands for

A while ago an NFL player Colin Kaepernick started stuff by not respecting our flag, saying that it was about race! NOT! I don't understand why people are doing bad things and using race as an excuse. I am confused, how can anyone say that this country is against black people when we just had a black president which yes I voted for both times.
As you all know I love Disney and considered them "All American" However I was so shocked to wake up the other day and see that they have partnered with Colin Kaepernick.
