#Goyaway

Yesterday the CEO of Goya Foods praised Trump in a Rose Garden speech. He said "We are all truly blessed ... to have a leader like President Trump who is a builder. We have an incredible builder, and we pray. We pray for our leadership, our president." Goya is a staple in Hispanic households. Trump is not known to be Latino-friendly. He has called Mexicans rapists. His administration separates children from their parents when they are found entering the country illegally. He is no hero for the Hispanic community. Anyway people are now talking about boycotting Goya on Twitter. I saw AOC mention trying to make her own adobo. Chrissy Tiegen stated that she is finished with the company. #Goyaway is currently trending. I don't have particularly strong feelings about the matter either way. I'm not a Trump fan by any stretch of the imagination but I'm also not Hispanic, Latino, etc. I buy a couple of cans of Goya beans each year for hummus or chili. That's about it. Making a conscious decision to boycott Goya would involve almost no effort or impact on my part. It will be interesting to see if there is any real negative impact on the brand after those comments.
The hashtag #Goyaway was trending on social media Friday after Robert Unanue, CEO of Goya Foods, appeared in the White House Rose Garden Thursday afternoon and praised President Donald Trump.

Is he psychotic? Trump probably paid him to say these things. You have not only the press against him, but members of his own cabinet, and family. We wouldn't have been in this Covid mess if he (Trump) had taken it more seriously. I don't see how anyone could support the Orange Stain at this point, but some people still insist he is the greatest thing since sliced bread. They are all delusional in my opinion, corrupt or both.

@snowy22315 I believe he did, I didn't vote for him the first time and won't this time either. God help us all if he does get re-elected.

I hadn't heard about this! I know the brand but rarely buy Goya. A huge boycott will say A LOT - that was pretty foolish to politicize their brand like this - big mistake.
