A new friend?

Two evenings ago, as I was sitting at my desk, a face appeared just inside my door. At first I thought raccoon. Then I saw it was a kitty. I got up and it ran outside, but stopped to look at me. I meowed at it and brought it a tiny bit of the sushi I was eating. The kitty gobbled it up. Its tummy looked small, and I could tell it was hungry.
I opened up a can of tuna, and gave the kitty maybe 1/4 of the can. The kitty ate it pretty quickly. It then came up to me, let me pet it, and rolled over on its back for a tummy rub. So this kitty HAS been around humans, I thought.
I went back inside to do more writing, and the kitty wandered off to do cat things across the parking lot. After about 10 minutes, I meowed at it again, and it ran across the parking lot and up the stairs. I gave it another 1/4 can of tuna and then another back and tummy rub.
By then I was suckered in. I brought it (I think it was a her) more tuna and made a bed for her out of an old blanket I had in my closet. I rubbed her back and my armpit and then rubbed the blanket with our aromas so the bed would smell familiar.
When I went to bed, she was sitting atop the stairs, where she had access to the parking lot or me. The next morning I saw some fur on the blanket bed, but kitty was gone. I didn't see her last night, so maybe she's an apartment complex trollop kitty. I do hope she visits again.

@TheHorse That name works out well. If you go out and call "Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty" every cat in the neighborhood will come running and you'll have your choice. If her belly is thin then she isn't getting enough to eat and she will be back to someone who is a good feeder. I'm a sucker for feeding cats well. I tend to buy human tuna for the cats along with giving them samples of my salmon, shrimp and other fish treats I get for myself. Oh and I also will cut up pieces of my chicken for them too. They don't leave their samples behind and they also wash their dishes clean too, they think they're saving me work.

@BearArtistLady Oh, my, I hadn't thought of that! I talked to a cat friend (actually a human) who said that cat food is just as expensive as tuna!

She will probably return if she gets hungry. You may end up with her as a pet.

@LindaOHio Tramp! But that's actually pretty likely. She sure did seem hungry, though.

@TheHorse Maybe she just wanders from house to house and gets fed once and a while?

Well, if nothing else, you made a friend. She'll be back when she wants some more delicious tuna!

The kitty knew you were a friend and you fed him or her so she or he decided to say thank you for coming up to you and letting you pet her or him. Also she did not want to get too attached to you because she was not sure of you yet. I hope she visits you again. She is quite pretty in the picture and very well taken care of. Did she have a collar on her? She be an outdoor cat.

Nice looking cat looks similar to one I owned growing up. One thing about cats, they know how to find a meal and an easy mark to feed them
