A little fluff of something in the water.

I remember seeing this in the water and thinking it was a piece of trash that had found its way into our tide pool. I could not reach it or I would have known quickly how wrong I was. It wasn't until a ranger who was teaching me about the life in the tide pools scooped it up in a clear cup that I saw what it was. This is another nudibranch or sea slug. Looks pretty cool if you ask me. I've been quite a couple of days because I have been trying to finish the project of replacing the siding on my back wall. When I finally stop for the day, I am so exhausted I am ready to crash. I'm not done yet, but all the full sheets are up and in place, the cut pieces, those that go under the eaves are next. Then put up the trim, caulk everything then paint. Maybe I'll be done by this weekend. (I hope, I am ready for something different.) Edit: Photo borrowed from Google.

It sounds like a large project that you've tackled here. That's an unusual looking creature.

@cperry2 We are twice as slow as we used to be too and some things now are beyond us but you certainly save a heap of money if you can do stuff yourself. You're right in that some YouTube tutorials are better than others.

@JudyEv If I can do a job, I prefer to do it. Sometimes, I get into something and realize it is beyond me, but that doesn't happen too often. (If it did, I think my wife would forbid me from trying.) Besides, with this covid thing going around, I'd just as soon stay home and do a job than hire people I do not know to come in and do it. Having visited the lumber supply stores for the stuff I need, I've seen how lackadaisical our local contractors are about following the health and safety guidelines.

I think if two people who had some experience with replacing siding were doing this job it would have been complete in three days maybe four. I am having to go slowly because I am a lot slower than I used to be and am learning as I go. YouTube is an excellent resource for learning. Though I always try to find multiple videos so that I can be sure of what they are saying. Honestly, there have been a few times when I looked at this and thought I should just hire somebody, but I cannot bring myself to spend the money. Especially in times like these when things are so uncertain.

Who would think that something like that would be alive?

This is the first time that I have heard of the sea slug. Is it a marine plant or like a jellyfish?

Well, staying alive is the plan. I am likely taking this day off and maybe tomorrow as well. All that is left is painting and we have drizzle in the area. One should not paint wet surfaces.

@cperry2 If I saw this in person, I wouldn't know what it was. Looks pretty actually!

We learn a lot from our surroundings. In fact, there are so many undiscovered things or creatures that we need to explore. Take a rest.

@cperry2 They say, the ocean is another world. Are your panels made of light materials or what? How is life going on from your end?

@Janet357 They weigh about 35 pounds (15 kilograms) each but they are 8 ft by 4 ft ( 2.5 m x 1.25m) in size, and quite bulky to be moving around.
