Do you still use Telegram?

We forget those things due to present technology. Now if we ask people about using Telegram, they will describe the answer as per messenger app, and not the short electric telegraphs. In India Telegram ended on July 15 2013 after remaining in use for 163 years. On this occasion of 7th ending anniversary (in India), I made this discussion. (it is 11 PM in India) So tell me, if your country still use telegram? or it is stopped there?

I know what telegrams are, but have no idea if they are in use anymore. I would think they have become obsolete by now.

I also initially thought that you were mentioning about the Telegram App, which I used briefly for just a few months last year. I was not aware that the Telegram service is no longer in use. By the way, even the concept of Postal letters and stamps might also be much less in use now. I will need to find which countries still use it.

Use of telegram was a proof in courts of sending messages, so it remained useful. Now speedpost/registred letter are proof.People who need proof of sending letter, use this service.

I have never used Telegram although somebody tried to get me to use it one time. I wasn't interested.

I don't remember what a Telegram is but I know there is a Telegram app and many people are using it these days.

That's what I thought about today's people. Original Telegram was a quick messaging service during old days, used by postal department.

No we don't use telegram here anymore. They were stopped in 2011

After reading your comment, I searched and found that Australia Post closed telegram service on 7 March 2011, however Batelco still keeps this service.
