The side effect!

I usually have my evening bath at 6 or 7PM. The water may be warm or slightly cool, and it gives me relaxation when I splash water on to my body. But this morning, I had incessant sneezing. I thought this may be due to the pollen of some weeds that my brother mowed. Now, I have the sneezes, continuous, and my eyes begin to swell. My nose feels like there is a ''worm is wiggling inside''; a manifestation of allergic rhinitis. I took the antihistamine medicine that my cardiologist prescribed me: CITIRIZINE. Good thing it costs P20 per mat of 10 small caplets (a tablet in the form of a capsule). I gulped one, and will take another at bedtime. The side effect of this medicine is already known by all: DROWSINESS! That is why when we watched a movie on Netflix, I dozed off. They did not wake me up because they know. How do you deal with a specific side effect of any medicine that you take?

we do not have bought a bottle of organic honey. antihistamines help reduce the occurrence of allergies.

good thing the side effect of the medicine is drowsiness, and i was able to sleep soundly last night. i don't take this medicine everyday for a few days; only when i have the rhinitis.

@ridingbet I'm not familiar with that. We have several that claim not to cause drowsiness, but I rarely have to take them.

i think there are some cough and cold medicines here that have side effect of dowsiness. Neozep now brags about a 'no-drowse' tablet.

It depends on the side affect. Drowsiness is nothing serious. So I pay attention to the label and don't go anywhere if I'm taking something that makes me drowsy. I had a medication that caused chest pains. A serious side affect. I alerted my doctor and it's on my chart now that I'm allergic to steroids - prednisone and usaris.

@ridingbet Yes, that's the way I was taking it, but I had some bad chest pains from it. The same with Usaris.

a cardiac medicine that is first aid to possible myocardial infarction is isosorbide dinitrate in the form of a tiny pill, orange, that should be placed sublingually. the side effect though is hard to control--- severe headache. for prednisone, this should be taken in tapered doses because its side effect may be moon-face or facial edema.

antihistamines do not stop yout heart, you will just have palpitations according to how you have your side effect of the medicine.

I can't remember the other brand that my friend told me when I experienced itching on my skin. I am not sure if it is the same for the one you experienced.

I am very, very careful before taking any kind of medicine because most of them must not be taken in case of glaucoma (that I have) Cetrizine is one of them, as it has the potential to elevate eye pressure, I cannot take the risk.

I take Claritin non-drowsy for allergies. The pharmacist said to take it at night but I discovered it actually acts as a stimulant for me. So I take it in the morning. It's a once a day medication.
