She came out with flying colors.....

Today was a day of result declaration. Today CBSE ( Central Board of Secondary Education) declared it's result for class 10th. It's an important milestone here for every student in India. The results were delayed by more than a month due to this pandemic crisis.
Yesterday my daughter came to us a bit worried about the results to be declared today. Though we have never put any pressure on our children, at times peer pressure is good enough to worry you. She came to my husband and asked if we would still be proud of her if she fails to deliver. I was happy with the way my husband answered and consoled her. He said -" We were proud parents the day you were born. You have given us enough happiness and joy. You need to do nothing extra to make us feel proud. You have to give your best and we have seen that you have done that and you always do that. Your presence is enough to make us proud." Finally, she could relax and go to bed peacefully.
Today the result got declared in afternoon. We got a call from her friend that it is out. The site was too slow as many would have been checking the result at the same time. It took us quite some time to get the page uploaded. She was all anxious, nervous and excited at the same time. Finally. it was clear and in front of us. She came out with flying colors scoring a perfect 100 in her favorite subjects Maths and Science.
Her overall percentage is 96.8%.
I am happy for her
. As a mother I said a silent prayer for her thanking God.
Now my younger one is baking chocolate cake to celebrate it for her elder sister
Chocolate cake is favorite of my elder one.
I had already cooked her favorite dish for lunch even before the result was declared. I always say my children that we need to celebrate the milestones of life without worrying too much about the result.

@arunima25 I remember when my son was in law school and kept getting phone calls from his buddies that they had heard that they had made Law Review. He was so kind in congratulating them, yet hurting inside. Hubs and I told him it wasn't the end of the word. He already had offers from the top firms, he worked so hard when not partying, lol, tried his best, proud of him, and still had schooling ahead of him, blah, blah, blah
When he shortly after received a phone from the powers that be telling him that he made Law Review and soon after was elected to serve as an officer, we were so relieved and thrilled for him. We had been dying inside our hearts for him until this wonderful news released it all. Kids! We can't help feeling for them.

Thank you Dianne.
I too felt that it was the best answer that my husband gave and he could calm her and pacify her so well with all anxiety and peer pressure. We did celebrate. My younger one was super happy and very proud of her big sister

@DianneN You are so right. We often tell our daughters that things are part of our lives and we should just give our sincere effort and hardwork to things. Life is bigger than these achievements. And it can always unfold into something surprising after a heartache or heart break. So just hold onto your faith and keep moving giving your best shot.
I can so well relate to you here. We can not stop feeling for our kids no matter how grown up they become.

Thank you so much for your kind words. Well all is her effort and sincerity. We as a parent only tried to instill some basic discipline around house and let her enjoy her learning without putting any pressure on her

Thank you so much Judy

Even I was touched by the way my he said it. He is a man of few words and is not expressive otherwise. But he said it in a very simple meaningful way.

@JudyEv Yes. We are aware of his fun and humorous side in those few words. It was touching and quite impressive to see him saying those sensitive words. And definitely it could pacify her. My elder one is more close to her Dad than me.
