The Most Important thing when you Shop for Electronics

Electronics like Air conditioner, Fridge, TV, and several other things are very much required in every home and even in offices too and there is one thing which many tend to overlook. It's the BIS star Rating. I think its in India only and Government rates the appliance with number of stars as per it's electricity consumption. For example 5 star rating will be best and 2 star will be ok only and low rating means more power consumption. Do you have anything like that which you look before buying any Electrical appliance?

We have energy ratings for fridges, freezers and cookers. There's a scale from A++ to G. Anything below A is no longer allowed to be sold. I'm no expert on these things, but I don't believe there is any kind of energy rating for things designed for orifices. such as electric toothbrushes, nose hair trimmers and those personal 'toys' sold by Victoria's Secret and the like.

I'm not sure if there's such rating system in my county but on each electronic packages there's usually info about the power consumption rate.

the measurements of the appliance... Energy rating doesn't matter if it doesn't fit where it is supposed to go

Most of the large electronics have star rating and these ratings are higher when the power consumption is less

@Fa_Maverick yes here it's easier. If the product is with 5 star rating it's best

@Butterfingers Yes I know I have one on my fridge, washing machine and dryer. But you really need to know the measurements of the appliance first.
