Turning Back Time--Superman Style

In the first Superman movie, starring Christopher Reeves, Lois Lane dies which really upsets the big guy. Full of rage (he screams, a lot), he decides to fly around the world at supersonic speeds. His power is greater than the normal rotation of earth and starts to spin--backwards, counter clockwise, in reverse--whichever one of these is correct. He creates a time warp continuum (not really, it just sounds cool), and time reverses, which gives him the ability arrive in time to save Lois. How would the world really react to such a powerful jolt? I personally think everyone would die, but in movies magic happens and that makes for a better ending than a world of dead people.
